“Great place to stay with car parking just out of city centre.”
Reviewed 4 August 2012 via mobile

We stayed here in July when my partner had a course. The hotel was chosen as it had a carpark and wasn't too far in to the city centre. I'm still undecided if it's a b and b or a hotel though. The size of the place and facilities and rooms say hotel but as there is no bar or bar area or restaurant it also says b and b.

The place itself is lovely, very modern and clean. With staff being so helpful that nothing was ever a problem. Always happy to help in tellig you how to get somewhere and keeping our bags late on day of departure and dealing with our hire car company as they were late in picking the car up and we had to leave.

Breakfast was perhaps a bit ott for me. Presentation was lovely but very fussy. There was a great selection of breakfasts from cereal to toast, porridge, salmon and full fry with many others in between. I had a fry the first morning but wasn't keen on the buttered soda scone, the minute potato scone and peppered cherry tomatoes, it was more about the presentation than the taste I felt. next day I had bacon and toast and it was lovely.

The hotel isn't just on the door step of the city centre, maybe I was walking a long way for a short cut. But it took me 20 minutes to get in. I walked in and back each day so not sure how much a taxi would have been. but cost £10 to the ferry docks so cant imagine it would have been too dear.

Overall I would stay here again the place and staff were lovely, I would bring comfier shoes for walking into town and have toast and bacon for brekie and I'll be sorted!!

The rooms and service are both great. It's on a very loud street though so would suggest you ask for a room in the back of hotel. The beds have extremely heavy blankets on them too so it can get very hotel/. Very clean and nice decor though.

Just stayed one night this time but will definately return. Staff go out of their way to be helpful and make sure you get as much from your stay as possible. Our room was a good size, very clean and pleasant. Excellent range of restaurants within walking distance. Delicious breakfast. One minor moan- the hairdryer in our room was rubbish! Not powerful at all. Ladies if you need a super speed dryer for your hair that doesn't fry it ,take your own!

Stayed at Tara Lodge Sun 29th - Tue 31st. This was our first stay in Belfast and thouroughly delighted with the city. I booked Tara Lodge as it was close to everything but based just off the lively Botanic Ave. We stayed in room 16 which was spacious and very comfortable, the room had everything we required and was spotless! The bed was super comfy and both nights we had a brilliant sleep. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety to choose from. The staff were wonderful, attentive and eager to help in any way they could. I highly recommend this hotel and will most definately be booking Tara Lodge for next trip to Belfast!!!

This is a great value for what you get. Tara Lodge is located in a residential area, just off a commercial street with a lot of bars and restaurants. The breakfast, which was included with my room, was delicious. The rooms are not huge but and very comfortable and have space for multiple pieces of luggage. There is free wifi and lots of television channels. Instead of pointing me to a taxi stand, they called a taxi for me. Great service.

Room Tip: I had a second floor room on the street side and there was some noise (I had my windows open). Ther...

We originally booked for two nights but extended the stay another night as it is such a fantastic place. Close to everything....easy walking distance, great rooms and the staff are outstanding. Excellent breakfast especially the Power Porridge. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are only too happy to help. The owners having a winning combination here....I hope they don't lose their staff....they are brilliant.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the railway line but this did not disturb us at all. Room...
