“Great Hotel/B&B”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

My daughter and I spent 3 nites at Tara Lodge. We loved the location. Just a few blocks to the city center but in a more residential area. Lots of great restaurants near by. The room was very nice and included a very good breakfast. The staff went out of their way to give us information about the area and make phone calls to help us with tours. Upon arriving home we had an email from them letting us know we had left our camera in the room. Again, they went the extra mile and sent the camera back to Florida. A return to Belfast would include staying at this great hotel.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed here and each time has been very, very nice. The staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are clean and breakfast is cooked to your own requirements. There is off street parking and cannot agree with a previous comment about the loud street, considering your in a city centre it is very quiet. Good bars and restaurants from the end of the road.

Found this on Tripadvisor and it lives up to all that is written about it - very convenient too for walking into city centre - good parking. Friendly, helpful staff and lovely breakfast!
More a B&B than a hotel.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have baths so request one if you want one!

We spent two nights here in June and have absolutely no negative comments. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially for recommending local restaurants. The availability of free parking is a bonus. Highly recommended.

We came to N. Ireland in order to visit the ancestral village which is tiny and way out of the way. We had no car so the reception staff immediately jumped into action and found us a bus route, called us a taxi and got us on our way in no time flat for a memorable visit. The rooms were clean, the decor excellent and though they have no restaurant they directed us to several close ones and made some recommendations, all of which were excellent. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Tara Lodge was our first night stay of our 16 day family trip to Ireland. Excellent first experience! Beautiful, clean hotel with friendly staff. Our first Irish breakfast was delicious. We had three rooms for our family and stayed two nights. We would highly recommend this hotel for any friends or family going to Belfast!

We stayed here in July when my partner had a course. The hotel was chosen as it had a carpark and wasn't too far in to the city centre. I'm still undecided if it's a b and b or a hotel though. The size of the place and facilities and rooms say hotel but as there is no bar or bar area or restaurant it also says b and b.

The place itself is lovely, very modern and clean. With staff being so helpful that nothing was ever a problem. Always happy to help in tellig you how to get somewhere and keeping our bags late on day of departure and dealing with our hire car company as they were late in picking the car up and we had to leave.

Breakfast was perhaps a bit ott for me. Presentation was lovely but very fussy. There was a great selection of breakfasts from cereal to toast, porridge, salmon and full fry with many others in between. I had a fry the first morning but wasn't keen on the buttered soda scone, the minute potato scone and peppered cherry tomatoes, it was more about the presentation than the taste I felt. next day I had bacon and toast and it was lovely.

The hotel isn't just on the door step of the city centre, maybe I was walking a long way for a short cut. But it took me 20 minutes to get in. I walked in and back each day so not sure how much a taxi would have been. but cost £10 to the ferry docks so cant imagine it would have been too dear.

Overall I would stay here again the place and staff were lovely, I would bring comfier shoes for walking into town and have toast and bacon for brekie and I'll be sorted!!
