We stayed at Tara Lodge before Christmas in the lead up to our wedding. Being a native of Belfast, I knew that the hotel is close to the busy Botanic Avenue but it certainly was not noisy around the hotel. It is conveniently located and easy to find.
We had an upgrade to a superior room and while the rooms aren't massive, they are adequate for most needs. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the beds are comfortable.
The major selling point of the hotel is the quality of the staff. They were fantastic. We couldn't have asked for better.
The quality of the breakfast was also outstanding. If you are looking for a proper 'Ulster fry', here's the place to get one. There's a good selection so most people won't be disappointed.
The parking can be difficult as the hotel car park is small. Arrive early to get a space and avoid the busy street.
Overall, this is a very good hotel. Reasonably priced in a convenient location. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Try and get a superior room for a little more space.

The Tara Lodge justifies the good reviews it has had from others. Good quality modern accommodation, with good maintenance and housekeeping; excellent breakfasts; friendly staff; quiet location in a side street (save for trains passing in the cutting behind), and on-site parking. We found the location, in the Queen's University district, suited us well. It's only a 15 min walk from the city centre, and has the advantage of plenty of eating and drinking places nearby, and a lively atmosphere.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Tara lodge. The staff are super helpful and all really lovely. Rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast as well was fantastic. Also it's a top location with loads of great restaurants and bars within a short walk. The only thing that we could fault would be the wifi. It's not the speed or access it's just the constant logging in which is a pain when you have iPads/iPhones but other than the place is brilliant - highly recommended!!

Stayed here as a couple the week before Christmas for two nights. Not far from the Central train station, about 30 minutes walk. Located off a busy enough street (but far away not to hear any noise) with restaurants (a lovely Nepalese one), bars and cafes and the Ulster Museum only ten minutes walk away. The walk into the city centre was a little bit longer, around 20-25 minutes but obviously taxis are an option. Our room was lovely, somewhat small for what we were told was an upgrade but we didn't mind. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom clean etc. Breakfast in the morning was delicious although the menu a little bit scarce. Receptionist was very welcoming and all the staff very friendly. We got great value for our money here, and I definitely recommend it to anyone.

PS I didn't realise we had access to a local fitness centre until we got there. Might be worth confirming with the Lodge before you travel if you fancy a swin/workout.

This was a lovely hotel in Cromwell Road, Belfast. Very central, only a fifteen minute walk to City Centre. Free parking, friendly helpful staff, spotlessly clean, wi-fi, Tara Lodge breakfast recommended. No meals available apart from breakfast, but we ate in local restuarants on Botanic street, just five minutes walk. We ate in Scalinis Italian Restuarant. Bellissimo! and also in Moghul, a really good Indian restuarant on the same street as the Tara Lodge. Both establishments had a middle range cost,
