Lovely modern and spacious rooms, plenty of free secure parking. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free internet in the lobby. Great breakfast!!!!! Don't miss the porridge!!! Perfect location for walking either to the city centre or to the Queen's University. Close to lots of pubs, bars and restaurants. Loved it!!

Poor area, good location, easy to walk everywhere. Close to good restaurants etc.Rooms clean but noisy, close to railway and noisy students. Toiletries not replaced. Staff very helpful. Parking available but limited. Breakfast good but greasy fry, poor selection of packaged cereals. Overall good but probably overpriced for what it is but I would still recommend it.

Dear deepsleep

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your stay at Tara Lodge. I’m very pleased that you felt that your stay was good and that you would recommend Tara Lodge to your friends and family. I am sorry that your toiletries were not replaced. Our housekeepers are trained to replace toiletries once the bottles are empty to avoid wastage. As noted in our guest information we can provide extra toiletries on request.

Our location is good - just off Botanic Ave which has numerous restaurants and bars to visit as you realised for yourself. We are a mere fifteen minute walk into Belfast city centre and even closer to Botanic Gardens and the Ulster Museum.

I’m delighted that you found our staff helpful. Our parking is offered free of charge to all guests and rarely does a guest have to use the free on street car parking to the front of Tara Lodge due to lack of spaces. I’m glad you found the breakfast good also. It is unfortunate that you found your fry greasy – all items are grilled except the eggs but I will have a word with the chef. Just a note on the packaged cereals – we offer eight different types of cereal. I am disappointed that you felt that our accommodation is overpriced – we try to offer good value for money by including breakfast, WiFi and car parking in the price.

Thanks again for recommending Tara Lodge.

Best Regards
Nora Douds

Very nice hotel lovely breakfast only problem we had was with the location it’s a nice distance from the city, buses every 10 mins, in city in no time but as it’s a student area the noise on the Saturday night we stayed was very bad (it was a balmy night and we had to leave the windows open) we were to the front of building would recommend asking for room at back.
Lovely staff very helpful

First class service from the time we arrived until we left, in a very comfortable room five minutes from the city centre, with cabs and buses close at hand.
I liked the friendly and helpfull staff but felt the parking was limited.

Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff who helped us sort out a restaurant having arrived a bit late on a Sauturday night. The hotel is very clean and looks stylish. Surprisingly quiet for its location. Easy walk to plenty of restaurants pubs and clubs. Easy walk to the Ulster Museum and Botanic gardens also. Comments made previously by guests about boarding up houses on the same street still apply and are a bit off-putting at first.

It's no wonder that Tara Lodge is rated as Trip Advisor's # 1 hotel! At 80 pound per night, or less if you pre-pay, this hotel is a bargain, but it's not 'cheap'. The decor of the hotel is modern and tasteful and the rooms are light and bright, and everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained! (While we were there, one of the staff was going around oiling all of the door hinges.)
The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast, which is included in the rate, was great, with a good selection and hot foods cooked to order. There is free on-site parking available, although not enough for all guests. The beds are really comfortable - great mattress!!
The location is fantastic - walking distance to the centre of the city, with plenty of dining options close by.
If you're staying in Belfast, you should stay at Tara Lodge ... you won't be disappointed! We would certaninly stay again!

Have been visiting the Tara Lodge for ten years now and would recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms are lovely and spotless. It is always a pleasure to go for breakfast as not only is the food excellent but also the staff are always ready to help or advise on places to visit while in Belfast. Every year someone new is added to our party and on almost every occasion they want to go back to the Tara. This in itself speaks volumes for the hotel. The area the hotel is in does tend to get noisy if you have rooms to the front however this is more than compensated by the friendliness of the hotel itself.
