“Great budget accomodation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2012

The hotel was very central and the location for us was ideal since we were going to a wedding at City Hall. The room was clean and large (it was on the corner of the hotel). the best thing for us was that we were able to check in at 11am thanks to the lovely girl on Reception. No toiletries provided (as explained on their website) but tea and coffee provided. very noisy at night, but this is due to the location, I suppose.

The hotel location is great! Right in the middle of everything. Close to City Hall , everything in walking distance. The rooms are ok, small but practical. Staff is helpful and friendly. We needed single bed, they had none but were very helpful with "family rooms" and "camp bed".
Breakfast was next door in the Italian restaurant. Ok and enough. Cooked breakfast was served quickly. All in all not very luxurious but for the stay at night good enough.

Stayed at Travelodge, Burnswick Street this month. Made the booking online on the day and got a double room for £45. Room was clean and spacious. I have not stayed at a Travelodge for a number of years and was pleasantly surprised with the state of the room. It was clean and functional. Double bed with duvet, simple dressing table, bathroom with working shower and good water pressure, mixer taps. Good nights sleep. Recommend Deanes Deli or Harlem Cafe on Bedford Street for breakfast.

Overall, I was disappointed by this hotel. Although the central location was very handy for our meetings on every other factor it was a let-down, especially given that we paid £100 per person per night. I normally don't have a problem with staying in a Travelodge but I will try to avoid this one in future.

The bed was old and uncomfortable with springs digging into my back. The chair at the desk/dressing table was old and very uncomfortable meaning it was impossible to sit comfortably and do any work in the evening.

The bathroom wasn't 100% clean, with hairs from previous visitors visible on the tiles. The shower wasn't an individual electric shower but was running off the mains water so whenever another guest turned on their taps elsewhere the temperature of the shower shot up and down to be scalding or freezing.

On the plus side, the reception staff were friendly and helpful when purchasing wifi access and requesting a hairdryer. Also, there is a perfectly acceptable restaurant adjacent to the hotel with direct access from reception so we didn't even have to step outside into the rain to get dinner which was a bonus.

We booked the Travelodge in Belfast City Centre for a short break & found the rooms good value for money, the staff were friendly & helpful, rooms were clean, coffee/tea making equipment was available but the room was very very hot (could be a reflection on my age though), we were on the 7th floor & the windows are electronic tagged for safety reasons. Overall the hotel is in the perfect spot to visit the city. The Titanic Experience is just at the back of the hotel & you can catch a 1bus from the bus stop 100 yrds or so from the hotel door to Belfast City zoo costing £3 return per person.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay. The weather in Belfast has been unusually warm unfortunately with out the sun, however we do have fans available at reception on request. It did the trick on a budget but couldn't wait to get out of the room. Stayed for 3 nights and when we checked in we were given our key to our family room, got to the room, one double bed. Went back down where the receptionist had realised the mistake, told us they had overbooked and it's the website fault as we had booked online. Waited a while and after she had worked out a solution we were given 2 rooms adjoining. Rooms were fine. Although we weren't expecting a view we had an absolutely awful one, as in the picture. Had to keep the curtains shut, couldn't tell if it was night or day without looking out and up.

Apart from that it is a great location and everything else was fine.

For a travelodge it's in a great location, had friendly staff, easy parking for the motorbike. Rooms were clean and standard Travelodge layout. Easy access to all Belfast central tourist bits and bobs. Note for bikers, traffic wardens allow you to park in a bay at front door all day and night and don't charge or ticket you :-)

Room Tip: Great for central location
