Location, staff, facilities and rooms make this one of the best Travelodges in the UK. Will definitely go again. No noise problem and directly opposite Robinson's pub the best in Belfast which believe me has many excellent pubs. Near bus and rail stations, Tesco and Subways.

I've stayed here a number of times over the years and always found the staff to be among the friendliest in the Travelodge group. They are helpful with directions and advice for guests. They will never be on the cheap / advance offers for low cost rooms, because they are so busy, but you can get a good deal, compared to some of the others in the area. The location is one of the best for anyone who wants to be in the middle of Belfast and a 2 minute walk from City Hall, and the surrounding attractions/ shops. Its 3 minutes, across one road from the rail and bus station behind the Europa, so you can utilise public transport easily. For drivers, its street parking or one of the many private ones in the area. Rooms are clean, secure and ideal for traveller comfort. There are a lot of good restaurants and cafe's to suit every budget. I go to Brennans, across the square from the hotel, at the end of Amelia st. I'll review that separately. Food is great value and very good.

Room Tip: Get a room as high in the hotel as possible, where there is much less noise from the city around.

While conveniently located close to the city centre, this is not a hotel I will stay in again. If see a bar called Fibber Magees from your hotel room ask to be moved immediately or head to the nearest pharmacy for a good set of ear plugs. The music goes on until after 3.00 am and then you have the noise from the people leaving the premises gathering in the square outside!!!

I was impressed with the location of the hotel in the city centre, but that was it. Unfortunately I had the worst hotel experience of my life. I was a mid-week customer visiting on business. Despite the hotel being fairly empty, I was assigned a room closest to the bar on the street. Once in bed, the problems started. The music from the bar over the road didn't stop until 2am!
The next morning I woke up with a stiff neck from the uncomfortable pillow, and very tired after having little sleep. The shower did not have any hot water, so I resorted to a freezing cold experience! Upon checking out, I told the receptionist about my experience in a very polite manner.
The receptionist took the defensive stance and said "Well, there's nothing we can do about the noise". She said "I should have told them about the shower earlier and they could have done something about it". When you've just woken up and wearing your bed clothes, the last thing that you want to have is an engineer looking at the shower in the room! The receptionist was not apologetic in the slightest!
I paid for a "Continental breakfast" at the attached restaurant. All that was on offer was toast and jam. There were no croissants or other pastries on offer. I don't consider toast to be a continental breakfast! The receptionist told me that the manager would call me that day. So far, I am still awaiting a call. I think that the hotel needs some serious input and staff retraining.
I would like to request a full refund for my visit. Thanks.

Dear RockDR69
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review .Since you checked out and before your review went live we have spoken on the telephone and I trust we have resolved your complaint.
I check all complaint s personally and the best way to check hot water is to test it at the same time the following day. When I did this was no issue with the hot water. During our telephone conversation we discovered you only tried the left hand side of the mixer tap however the hot water was on the right hand side.
Hot water issues can be due to factors outside the room so it may not be necessary to enter the room and can be resolved in minutes. This is why we always recommend that guests report any problems as we can resolve 95% immediately.
kind regards
Garry Gaynor
