“Park Avenue Sausage Coalition”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2010

The Park Avenue is an excellent hotel boasting fine facilities, attentive and courteous staff, and well appointed rooms. It is a pleasure to stay there when in Belfast.

However, there is one minor gripe... the mystery of the disappearing sausage at breakfast time. Each time I have stayed at the Park Avenue in recent months while on trips to Belfast, the traditional "Ulster Fry" breakfast has been presented with just one sausage - despite the menu clearly stating the breakfast comes with two.

A trivial thing maybe. But when the menu promises something and you pay for it, one would like to receive it. At the Park Avenue there is a deliberate policy of shortchanging the Ulster Fry afficiando. This is underlined by the fact that after the missing sausage has been subsequently supplied on a plate of its own along with an apology by the waiting staff, other guests still receive just one succulent and superbly cooked sausage.

It is time for guests of the Park Avenue to demand more.

When staying at the Park Avenue, stand up for your sausage entitlement and ensure your Ulster Fry is served with the full complement of sausage. The menu at the time of writing promises two sausages, so do not accept anything less. Become an associate member of the Park Avenue Sausage Coalition today and together we can make the chef serve what is advertised. Your taste buds deserve it.

Enjoy your stay.

I have been staying at the Park Avenue Hotel for nearly twenty years, usually 4/5 times a year and have had the pleasure of watching it become one of the top hotels in Belfast.
From arrival to departure you receive the friendliest service in all parts of the hotel,(bar/restaurant/reception).
The rooms are well equiped and very comfortable.
The owner, of this privately owned hotel, has successfully maintained his ambition to turn the Park Avenue into one of the most popular hotels in Belfast.
My wife has, ocassionally, joined me in visits to the Park Avenue.

I will be checking out tomorrow and have been extremely impressed with all aspects of my stay, I have stayed in total 14 nights, checking out and in 3 times. The staff are all friendly and very helpful, the rooms are spacious, clean and very well appointed, the bistro menu is varied and very reasonably priced, and the included breakfast is excellent, there is a bus stop opposite the hotel and the fare into the city centre is £2.70 for an all day pass, and is 15 mins from the centre. The hotel is child friendly as well, all in all a grand experience and recommended for anyone.

Stayed at this hotel for the wkend with my boyfriend, the hotel is modern, the rooms where nice, if a little to warm at night...Staff are very friendly. The hotel is not in walking distance to the city centre but only cost about 6stg to travel which reception will book for you.

Pleasant Staff, clean, decent breakfast. Quite far out -needed a taxi to get into town.
Rooms are fairly standard . We were expecting a lot more from a 4 star hotel.
The bar was lacking in atmosphere.

Stayed for two nights attending a Line Dancing weekend and had a wonderful time. Very nice hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, even got more tea bags at 1.30am. Only criticism is there is no control over room temperature and found it very warm, also would have preferred a swimming pool rather than a gym, which we did not use!
