“Best UK hotel we've stayed in so far!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2011

Great hotel. Really nice staff, beautiful decorations. We stayed in a double room which was a great size with a lovely bathroom and everything you needed right there in the room. Parking is on the street and free with plenty of spots available and not too far to walk into the city centre. Breakfast was delicious - I would definitely come back here again. I could not fault anything in this hotel.

We got a great rate at a. Discount booking site. The hotel was in a great location near the university. We had a car but parked the 3 days we were there and walked everywhere other than being picked up for the black taxi cab tour. We really enjoyed the tour. We found it a good introduction to the "troubles". Our driver tried very hard to be unbiased, which we give him credit for, but you could sense lingering problems.. When we visited the Free Derry museum in Derry we learned even more.
We walked miles and felt very safe although a few weeks later trouble erupted.
The hotel was modern, clean, very nicely updated. On street parking was available.
We walked to the arena where the Belfast Giants play to find some memorabilia but nothing was open. There was a hockey pub next door filled with Canadian junior and and university hockey jerseys apparently run by a expat Canadian. Fun to see in the middle of Belfast

Room Tip: Look at discount booking sites

Really nice quiet boutique style hotel. Very good value and friendly staff . The room was huge and decorated in a modern style. For the men out there the flat screen tv was huge! The bathroom was a delight , shower had the necessary power and was nice and big.The breakfast(complimentary) was typically Irish and perfect. The outside of the hotel had loads of seating near the bar and was nice and clean. Parking was free directly opposite the front door.Walking distance to the Europa etc. highly recommended.

My colleague and I stayed in Dukes for two nights while attending a a conference in QUB which turned out to be very close by!
The rooms are spotlessly clean, furnished to a very high spec with large flatscreen TVs and iPod docks with recessed speakers. The bed was extremely comfortable and bed linen was amazing quality. Bathrooms equipped with rain shower and separate bath, all very stylish.
We had breakfast both mornings and I highly recommend both the eggs Benedict and the full Irish.
Generally, the hotel is extremely clean and the interior is beautiful designed. From the moment we arrived, we had such a positive and genuine welcome. The customer service is absolutely brilliant and when we decided to take a tour of the city, the receptionist couldn't do enough for us.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at Dukes at Queens to celebrate my 34th birthday last month. The location is great, we walked from the bus station (in the rain) and found it easily, sitting as it is at the cross roads.
The breakfast was great, with a choice of a 'full Irish' or 6 other hot dishes, as well as the standard continental.
Our room was comfortable and the shower was great. It was way too hot the first night but we sorted this with the air con and slept better the 2nd night.
We drank in the bar either before or after going out for dinner each night and there was always a good buzz.
There are plenty of nice places to eat in the area and we didn't need to stray too far of an evening to find somewhere that suited.
I would recommend this hotel.

booked through ?? and had a decent price for a 2 night stay. it was very handy for us as we wanted to be in the Queens area of Belfast, not far from university etc. The hotle staff were friendly and helpful. the room was very clean and quiet, was able to get a good nights sleep. The cooked breakfast was prepared to order , not sat keeping warm for ages.

Room Tip: we had a room at the back with no view but quiet

We really enjoyed our stay in Belfast this hotel is beautiful! Huge rooms, beds you'd get lost in, massive bathrooms and showers, nice tv and docking station!! The room was so warm we couldnt sleep comfortably despite the lovely bed and we couldnt open the windows!! If the breakfast included in the very reasonable price is drawing you in to staying here I'd advice to not order anything hot!! Great location by the university less than a ten minute walk to the centre for great shopping and even closer to great pubs!!! Didn't get a taxi once!! Hotel staff are very friendly!!
