“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

This hotel is lovely, large bedroom with a very comfortable bed (wanted to take it home) very modern bathroom with a fantastic shower, toiletries provided but no conditioner. Proper hair dryer, not one attached to the wall. Large wall mounted TV. Breakfast was superb no queuing yo help your self to items tat had been sitting there for ages, waitress service and food lovely and fresh. The bar in the evening was a nice addition, after walking the sites all day we had a lovely meal and drinks before having a dance to the resident DJ on the Saturday night. Hotel us all in a good are, lots of cafés and bars near by and within easy walking distance of the city centre. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

After reading many positive reviews of the Dukes at Queens hotel we decided to book a 3 night stay, the boutique hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard the rooms are very large and clean the staff at the hotel are very helpful the breakfast is excellent with much choice. With the city centre only a 15 minute walk away the is another reason to stay at the Duke at Queens.

It was a pleasure to stay at Dukes. Just a 15 minute walk from the Europa Bus Station the Queens area, which is the student quarter for the University, has a great feel, lively enough but not too lively. The hotel was great, the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, the room was huge and all the fittings, fixtures, etc were in good order. The bar was comfortable and the drink was not over-priced. The breakfast was fine with plenty of choice. All in all if I was staying in Belfast again I wouldn’t bother looking for any other hotel and would be straight back to Dukes. Should just mention the staff again, they are a credit to the owners - well done.

A bit of a late shout to get out for the Giro, but in a word - wow! Great size of room, bathroom was very recently fitted - huge (bath and walk in shower). Large bed and all in very good condition.

Location is great - next to the botanical gardens and within 10 mins walk from the centre of town. Lots of bars and restaurants very close by.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and lots of continental choice. Hopefully i will get a chance to return!

We recently stayed and booked at this hotel due to the positive reviews on trip advisor. We didn't find our stay particularly positive. The staff were not particularly attentive. This included reception staff, cleaning staff, staff at breakfast. We had to remind them that we needed toilet paper. We were not given tea bags once we used the ones in the room. The cleaning staff left an open packet of biscuits in our room and wouldn't replace them with fresh ones. There was a visible layer of dust on several work surfaces including the wardrobe and chair. There is also a problem with noise. We specifically asked for a quiet room. We had a room on the second floor and on a Saturday it was anything but quiet. Constantly we heard the thump thump thump of music from the bar below. Breakfast is also poor, badly cooked, rubbery eggs, curdled hollandaise, fruit in sugary syrup, Luke warm tea in a small pot for two and never offered a refill. This hotel could be so much better if customer service was better, the cleaner paid a little more attention and the music wasn't so loud. The hotel is in a nice area with lots of places to eat, and nice walks around the botanic gardens and university. However, until they pull their socks up and improve their service, I'd look for an alternative hotel that is a bit quieter, cleaner and where staff are attentive.

I was taken to Dukes in February as a birthday trip and all I can say is WOW!
We took an easy taxi journey from the train station to the hotel, which only cost about 7 pounds and we were greeted by the nicest people at reception.
The rooms were incredible, spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was amazing with a waterfall shower and a fountain in the bath. We were in and out of the centre of Belfast a lot but the taxi fares were very cheap, at around 4 pounds.
The staff on the front desk were on hand to call a taxi for you whenever needed. There was one particular girl on the desk who was so helpful and recommended things for us to do etc. Unfortunately her name escapes me now.
We ate in the restaurant one night, which unfortunately was one of the only downfalls of the place. The food was only ok and we were quite rushed. However, we did arrive in at last orders.
The hotel is situated just at the top of a street which has numerous restaurants, cafes, bars etc. so we were never short of somewhere to eat out.

All in all I loved this hotel and I am hoping to return some time soon.
