Somerton House is in a nice, quiet neighbourhood, away from the hustle/bustle of Belfast. As well, the Lancaster Inn is very close by, with a nice pub/restaurant. The best thing about Somerton House's location is the easy access to public transit -- it's far nicer to enjoy the sights of Belfast's downtown by taking transit, than trying to drive oneself. The transit stop is a 4 minute walk and the buses run extremely frequently (the bus trip downtown is 15 - 20 minutes). Mannix is very good with providing handy information and is a gracious host. Our room was large and had a nice view of the street. Breakfast was more than adequate, with plenty of selection for all appetites.
Shelley R, Saskatchewan, Canada

Room Tip: Our room faced the street and was still quiet. When we booked, all of the ensuite rooms were booked...

Nice, quiet neighbourhood. We had a great view of the mountains from a room. With the slanted ceiling, we bumped our heads a few times. lol. Room was clean and comfortable. A short walk to the transit stop. Ride all day pass is cheap and recommended. Parking is very limited and it is recommended to park on the street. This was not a problem. You would park have on the walkway and half on the street (just as the locals do it) and not get ticketed (must allow for room for people to walk by). Food was great. Plenty of options and our host was very accommodating. he was also full of information.

We enjoyed staying a little out of the city. The B&B is on a quiet street but very close to a bus into the city and only 5 minutes from the castle. Comfortable, clean and warm with a good breakfast.
Friendly and helpful people. Would definitely stay here again.
Limited off street parking.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are quiet. Just request a spacious and quiet room.

We stayed 2 nights in Belfast, and this was the perfect location - a nice neighborhood just outside of the downtown area. The host was great. He answered all of our questions, telling us where to eat, what buses to take, where to park the car, etc. The breakfast was good too. I would return here.
