To begin with..When booking do ask for a room on courtyard side if you need a good night sleep after a long day of exploring the city or the country.
Don't bother if you come in to town to party, celebrate, drink and dance. The noise from the street won't bother you.
Hotel is on very noisy street and the noise gets even worse after sun goes down as there is a nightclub and a bar downstairs. But this probably applies to a street facing rooms which unfortunately I was staying in and didn't like it at all..ear plugs did help but didn't block completely.

The first thing that welcomes you in the reception is the smell of cigarettes. Stuff is nice and helpful. Room was clean and big enough for our needs. Bed was big enough but mattress too soft. Hotel needs some updating-new windows and roof (there was a leak i the hallway, luckily not in the room).
Breakfast has a big choice of hot food but very poor selection of cold foods which is ok when visiting in the winter as I was.
Overall it was ok but not great. Its just not hotel for me.

To get to the center only takes 15 min of walking. Belfast is a lovely modern city with loads to do and see. The only downsize is you rarely see the sun so don't forget your umbrella when visiting.

Room Tip: ask for room that's of the road

My husband and I stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary from Sunday 8th April - Tuesday 10th April. We had great time. Our room was lovely, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We went down to the bar on the Sunday and Monday night, they have gorgeous cocktails for £3. On the Monday night we dined in the bar, two courses for £10! great value and very tasty:) At breakfast time it was no problem to mix and match things from the menu. We also got a late check out no problem. will def be back:)

Had an extremely enjoyable stay here. Travelled on a new package which included 3 nights bed & breakfast, 2 evening meals and an epic trip around the Antrim Coast, including the giants Causeway. Extremely central location and excellent staff -very helpful and friendly. Bar had a good atmosphere as it soubled as the dining room for the hotel (Would have liked a screen or two to watch the sport!!) Would definitely stay here again.

The Madison's was very clean and well presented. I stayed with a friend for 2 nights, one in a twin room and 1 night in a double room. The double room was quiet spacious as compared to the twin room although the amenities and cleanliness was great in both the room types. The shower in the bathroom was refreshing, great water pressure and nice and hot! And so much space in the bathroom!
I personally had great difficulty in connecting to the WiFi at my laptop and phone, although my friend was able to connect to the WiFi on his phone, which was the only negative experience of madison's for us.

In the restaurant of the hotel, there is a good selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also they have happy hours for cocktails from 5-8 every day and a live traditional folk music from 8-11 on Wednesdays which was quiet entertaining.

The staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. We were tourist from Scotland so didn’t have our own transport but got hold of the Belfast VIP travel pass that gave as unlimited access to train and buses. Madison's is well located on the bus routes 7 & 8 and the botanic garden train station. Additionally it is at most a 10 min. walk to the city centre.

I would definitely recommend Madison's to anyone looking to stay in Belfast and visit Northern Ireland.
