The Madison was perfect in every way for our 4 day visit to Belfast. The hotel was clean, tidy, the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The food we ate was fantastic and value for money, all washed down with half priced cocktails as well, fantastic. We will definitely be back soon.

This hotel is not good, not bad, but average. It could improve when it comes to cleaning. The staff was nice and helpful. Rooms facing the street are very noisy because of the bar in the entrance area. But my main complaint is that the Internet did not work properly. I was there to work, and chose the hotel because it was close to the university and had Internet connection. It had a very bad connection, off and on. Nowadays a good connection is mandatory. I spent a lot of time getting online. Very annoying

I honestly don't know how anyone can complain about this hotel for the price! For £80 we had a double room, 2 course meal, bottle of pink Prosecco (which was lovely btw) and breakfast included - sure its for nothing! We are getting married in June and this was our last wee treat before the wedding and didnt want to spend too much. I have to say I couldnt fault it! Staff were lovely, location is great - walking distance to practically everywhere in city centre, our meal was gorgeous and of course my favourite - the cocktails! These are not horrioble cheap pre-made cocktails, they are proper cocktails and great value at £3 between 5 & 9pm! Madison's has always been my favourite choice for cocktails even when not staying in the hotel!

Unfortunately we didnt make it for breakfast as we indulged in one too many cocktails, but I am sure it was lovely too. I would 100% recommend Madisons to all my friends, and will definitely hope to get another nights stay in it again soon. Thanks to all the staff for a great night away :)

Room Tip: We had no specific room requirements, although it was over looking the bottle bins which I though mi...

If the room had been clean I would be giving this place a 3 or 4 as the prices really are very good, particularly if you take advantage of packages with food. Bath tiles were dirty, grout stained pink with soap scum, stained shower curtain and room corners had a build up of dust and dirt. Bed wasn't that comfortable and we just had 2 flat pillows despite asking for extras before going out for the evening. A bag of rubbish was hanging from the room window handle and fell to the ground when we opened it in the morning/ not sure if it was left by guests or cleaners. We thought the location was good and stayed on a Tuesday so had no problem with noise. Bar staff and porter were friendly and made great cocktails. Bar area could do with a good clean before people go there for breakfast.

Great value for money, if that what you want. Rooms clean, not super modern rooms, but in good shape with no problems. Great bar with 25+ coctails menu and cocktail half price from 5-9. Food was very good and all in all great value for money. £70 for one night including evening meal and breakfast. Would stay again.

My boyfriend booked the superior room at £35 per person, 2 course dinner and breakfast included (February 2014 sale price). Receptionist was friendly enough and had no problem cancelling a champagne order. We felt welcomed right away.

At the restaurant, the atmosphere was loud, busy and lively. Some may enjoy the busy atmosphere but we were hoping for a quiet and romantic meal so we were slightly disappointed. The staff were too busy and forgot my drink order several times (cocktails, highly recommended). we ordered from the £10, 2 course menu as it was part of the deal. Food was about a 20 minute wait and it was difficult to catch staff's attention because of the business. The food itself was average, but good portioned.

The Superior room had a supper king bed, comfortable enough but the pillows were small and flat and made the comfortable bed, not so comfy. The room was clean and tiny as so was the bathroom. My biggest criticism is the NOISE POLLUTION!! Being situated at a busy street popular to student night life, there was loud screaming and shouting from the streets until 3am. We managed to sleep in silence for 2 hours until 5am when the streets were polluted with noise from delivery vans and bin men.

I guess it was cheap for a reason? The noise pollution (no fault of the hotels, simply just a busy student populated area) and the restaurant let it down.

This is a lovely hotel, well positioned and the staff are lovely. However I would never come back. This is because I paid for a superior room and requested a "quiet room" as it was a special occasion. The room was indeed lovely but was the noisiest hotel room I have ever had. We were allocated the room directly above the restaurant and bar/club and the live band played until 12.30am. tHe rest of the time there was noise - bar music/voices/banging that you could hear. The only peace came at 1am but then we were woken at 7.30am the next morning by builders next door as lots of building work going on. We also waited over 30 mins for breakfast. Such a shame. We did complain both on the evening itself and the next morning the sweet receptionist was trying to be nice but was relaying unhelpful messages from the manager that we could have a complimentary lunch - not much help when your'e about to leave for the Giants Causeway. Or their other offer - 50% off another room in future. they did not give us a penny back which seems really unfair. Why woudl you put your superior room in the noisiest part of the hotel - utter madness.

Room Tip: Dont bother with a superior room - you wont get any sleep
