“Good hotel, bad smell.”
Reviewed 5 April 2014 via mobile

Stayed here for my 23rd birthday with my boyfriend last week, decided to get the superior room. Stayed in normal rooms before which were fine for a stay. Superior room was big, spacious, very big bed, fridge etc. however no iron, which I assume most rooms should have. We were facing the street and directly above the restaurant so it was very noisy but didn't annoy us. Bathroom stank of sewage which has really put me off. We noticed it when we arrived but thought nothing off it, but smell got worse after showering. Overall, brilliant hotel for the price. Food in restaurant was gorgeous and who can complain about madisons cocktails! Staff were lovely and helpful too. Would stay again but would hope the smell from room 109 would nit be there.

Visited hotel via a groupon voucher.
Amazing value for money. Food in the restaurant attached is very good, and drinks nice and cheap. In a very central location for seeing Belfast.
Rooms are basic - seems like the type of place where you`d simply sleep off the back of business meetings. V.Friendly Staff

Room Tip: I think theres a club upstairs from the bar next door. I stayed mid-week so not sure, but try and ge...

This was my 3rd time staying in Madison's, and the most disappointing. The room was ok, clean and tidy. But the tv didn't have all the stations it should. We had to ask for the wifi code, rather than have it offered on checkin; the connection was not great at all. We requested an iron, which was delivered to the room. The plate of the iron was burnt black, and stuck to clothes as it was ironing. My companion had stayed here a couple of weeks before, and had complained about the poor cleanliness; her complaint was accepted and she was offered prosecco and chocolate strawberries on arrival for this stay. On getting to our room, there was a pre opened bottle of prosecco, with about 3/4 of it gone. There were 2 wine glasses provides, we managed about 1/2 glass each. The strawberries weren't exactly fresh. Very disappointing way of recompensing a recent poor experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is just lovely, but we were seated upstairs in the restaurant for dinner, and promptly forgotten about. We had to approach the restaurant manager after a 30 min wait, and who, judging by her facial expression, had forgot about us. It took another 30 mins to be served, not good when you have somewhere to be. Breakfast was lovely, but again a bit slow. Location is very handy to the city centre and the bus station. I've always had nothing but good to say about Madison's, sadly this isn't the case now. I won't be staying there again

Situated near Queen's University, the Botanic Gardens and the Ulster Museum and only a 20 min walk into the city centre, this hotel offers a great place to stay. The staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful, especially Cheryl who was a mine of information on what to see and do, pointing out a few free hidden gems. The hotel is a bit 'tired' in places, but bedrooms/bathrooms clean and well equipped, and the food was great value with cocktails attractively priced at £3. Will definitely use the hotel again as a base to explore Belfast some more

Belfast city itself is compact, with fabulous architecture, and plenty to satisfy those wishing to do some serious shopping. Recommend you take the open top tour bus to learn the interesting history and see some amazing sights.

Room Tip: There's a noisy AC/extractor affecting rooms on level 3 but was thankfully turned off overnight

We booked in here for 2 nights so we could visit the city and the titanic exhibition.
The hotel is 20mins walk to main city centre or about £4 pound in a cab. Its a shoppers paradise with every top branded shop available to the bargains of primark (pennys) and dunnes stores.
The titanic quarter is a good 35mins walk from the hotel or £6 pound in the cab one way.
The hotel itself is very nice and very reasonable for the price we paid. The staff are second to none they couldn't do enough for you the reception staff 10/10 the bar staff also 10/10. The bar does happy hour of cocktails £3 for decent size cocktail time is from 5-7.
We had a meal with our package and it was fabulous the breakfast all doe it was nice very bland and simple.
The room 308 which was a double was a decent size and very clean the bed was comfortable also. The bathroom consists of a bath/shower and was a decent size.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a decent hotel without breaking their budget.
Myself and my wife will definitely visit again no doubt.

The Madison was perfect in every way for our 4 day visit to Belfast. The hotel was clean, tidy, the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The food we ate was fantastic and value for money, all washed down with half priced cocktails as well, fantastic. We will definitely be back soon.
