“Must see in Belfast”

In the city centre, next to the Europa Hotel is the marvelously restored Grand Opera House. Buy a ticket to see the theatre where a great west end production of Singin' In the Rain was playing. It's a short walk from the visitor's center and the cafes and banks (ATMs!) on Bedford Street.

The Opera House is lovely hosting travelling West End productions as well as local shows. There is also the infamous Xmas Pantomime which is worth a visit. There is a restaurant and bar on site but it is naturally very busy at intervals although I think you pre order your drinks. Some of the seats can be a little bit awkward with the natural of the building meaning there can be pillars in the way. I find the Gods a little to high up to really enjoy a stage show but fine for music.

“Ballet at its best”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

Ambience. Atmosphere. Architecture all under one roof. Worth making a night of it and going local for a pre theatre meal... Plenty on offer in surrounding streets.
Then it's time to lose yourself in tutus & high points when the curtain raises

English Youth Ballets version of Sleeping Beauty was fantastic. Principles with a cast of 120 young children were inspiring. Hope they come back soon
