Ignore the hype about all of the bickering which goes on between our politicians inside and enjoy the peace and tranquility of a long walk in the beautiful grounds.

This awesome building, which has been so integral to the Troubles, is a fascinating place. Be sure to get a guided tour - seeing it on your own is possible, but misses much of the nuance and importance of what has happened here.

We were lucky enough to get a taxi driver from the company which carries all dignitaries visiting the estate and he drove us right up to the front of this magnificent building. The setting is superb with wonderful views over the city.

Love walking here, my dogs love the walk threw the small woods you can spend your whole day here with a picnic.

There is toliets at the park area.

All the grounds are very well kept. If the sun is out you will have a fab day :) they hold different events here from time to time , it does get very busy.

please be aware of times the gates close we did get locked in at 1 stage there was no one around to let us out we had to climb the gates it was very difficult considering we had our dogs to get over as well, a memory we can laugh at now lol not so good at the time tho.

Some friends from the North arranged for a punch with two MLA's who graciously hosted us in the Members' dining room. We talked history, politics and about the contribution Canada has made to Ireland over its history. Next they gave us a tour - fully narrated with true stories - of the building and its chambers. The drive up to Stormont is unparalleled with Carson rising out of the mist. Truly spectacular.
