“Hotel on song....”
Reviewed 4 October 2013

Travelled here with a tour group of singers and stayed two nights. Friendly efficient welcome, excellently appointed rooms and comfortable bed. Only slight criticism.... given that we were travelling as a group and the hotel were aware of this they could have staffed the bar better in the evening. On both nights one young barman struggled manfully to cope with the large group of people seeking refreshment but it meant long waits to be served.

I booked an over night stay (Tues) in the Ramada Belfast. Check in was efficient as was my check out. The 2 girls on reception were very competent, helpful & seemed to be interested in my stay. I mentioned 4 shortcomings that I noticed in my room; 1 from a maintenance point of view & the other 3 from housekeeping. Hopefully after I left the housekeeping issues were checked & rectified for the next customer. The breakfast was more than ample & I would have no problem in staying there again or recommending the hotel to others.

My wife and I stayed here last week for three nights. We had a very nice stay. Room was of a very good standard. Clean, tidy and well equipped. We used the pool and health club and they too were very good. Staff were helpful and courteous too. The hotel is well placed in the city with ample free parking - this was something that specifically attracted me to staying here as it's sadly a rarity these days. Overall a very good experience. Would certainly stay here again.

I first stayed at the Ramada by accident. It's not central, but that's an advantage when your one step into the heart of Down. Everything in this hotel is understated - nothing fussy, clean well proportioned rooms, efficient service with a smile; sensible portions of unpretentious wholesome food. You can have a decent swim too. There is no problem the staff can't fix - and they all embody that 'can fix' attitude. One of the best features is the abundance of those soft-seated private/public places to sit back and solve the impending doom over a croissant and coffee. Bliss.

Room Tip: As with most hotels, try to avoid next to car park rooms with the proverbial pre-dawn comings and go...

I recently stayed here with my partner and baby daughter fir my partners 30th birthday the staff where very accommodating and couldn't do enough for us especially Samantha who was working in the suburbia bar and grill nothing was to much trouble and she even sterilized all are bottles for us as when asked which was a big help. Also the night worker Steve was very good he organised balloons to be put in the room on arrival as a surprise for my partner and got everyone to sing happy birthday to him. The stay was very enjoyable and the food was of the best quality we really couldn't fault anything if we tried and will definitely be visiting again in the future

My Wife, my two toddlers and I stayed here for 4 nights as we were attending a wedding locally. We had a family room on the 1st floor, which was convenient for the more formal dinning restaurant (where breakfast is served) which is also also on the first floor. The continental breakfast is pretty good value with plenty for kids. The evening options are the 1st floor restaurant which at the time of writing was a mixture of curry and English options and the ground floor bar area serving more pubby food. The restaurant does not open until 7 and so kids dinning is in the bar, which has 3-4 options for kids. Coming from London we thought that the food and the drink were pretty reasonably priced although there is not a great deal of choce (they have two red and two whites by the glass). We had breakfast and our evening meal in the hotel each night, and the food was ok (nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about either. There are not many other options in the immediate vicinity apart from the Lock Keeper's Inn which has good brunch and sandwich options and is also on the canal walk to the City Centre.

Room itself was a decent size (room for a double, a single and a travel cot), clean and had a good shower. We also used the pool a couple of times which was great. Hotel is part of a large chain and is smart, modern and functional in style and so of course lacks the charm of a more boutique establishment.

Staff were generally pretty friendly and helpful. Jamal who managed the dinning room on a couple of occasions was particularly helpful, although some of his staff were a little less proactive. We also had a large group us in the bar on one of the evenings ordering drinks and food and the staff (of which only a few were on) were really helpful and gave excellent service.

Overall it is a good place to have a short stay with a young family.
