“A must for any visitor to Belfast”
Reviewed 24 March 2010

We went to Ten Square for our Daughter's 16th Birthday, it was mid week so not too busy, the waiter (David) could not have been better, the food was fantastic and very fun!
There is something for everyone and the decor is lovely although not sure about the Cow's looking at you! It is set in a very good location, just across the road from City Hall.
I have also been on a Saturday night which is a very different experience, as you would expect it is very noisy but the food was still great, fantastic for young people out for the night. If also very close to the Opera House so good for a pre show meal. Price we thought was very reasonable.

I have visited Ten Square on a number of occasions as I used to live in Belfast and have always been impressed. We were not staying in the hotel, but decided to go in for a meal. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was of a high standard and was good value for money, with a varied menu available. We have a 5 month old baby and were seated so that the buggy could be placed beside us and it was nice to be in a restaurant where we were not made to feel that the baby was in the way. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

We had a completely positive experience of staying in this hotel; (we were travelling with our six week old baby), the staff could not have done more to help, they were friendly, obliging and attentive without being intrusive. We had our evening meal sent up from the restaurant, the food was fine and the service impecable. The location was perfect. The room (a superior room) was clean, spacious and stylish. The bedding was of high quality and the toileteries in the bathroom were lovely. Overall, we'll be back.

Overall: As expected. A comfortable mid-range hotel. Nothing grand but first impressions are good - modern, elegant and relaxed.
Pros: - Clean, spacious room with a lovely view of City Hall and the Belfast Wheel. Top floor overlooking a busy road but very quiet. Free movies (good for rainy afternoons!). Decent power shower.
- Great location close to the Crown Bar, lots of restaurants, pubs / cocktail bars, and shopping areas. Cab ride to the Cathedral Quarter (for live music, more restos) was about £4/5.
- Good breakfast on offer - their Ulster Fry is great for hangovers. Well-stocked bar with attentive staff. Good atmosphere from lunchtime onwards.
- Staff are polite and friendly. Allowed us to check in before our allotted time.
Cons: Signs of wear and tear, nothing major. Sheets overly starched, felt a little 'crisp'.
- Room service meal (ordered as a last resort one night) was truly awful. Food in the bar (again, ordered as a last resort one lunchtime) was below average. Highly recommend eating out nearby - try The Ginger Bistro or Cayenne.
We got a very good deal booking online and staying mid-week, which left us with money to spend on excellent food and nights out. We didn't expect or need anywhere as plush as The Merchant and this place was ideal for our quick break. Would return and recommend.

We stayed at Ten Square for one night in January and it was lovely. We purchased the romance package which included rose petals throughout the room, chocolate truffles, chilled champagne and several bottles of toiletries. Our room on top floor was spacious and very clean with excellent views of city hall. The hotel is located centrally in Belfast and was within easy walking distance of eating establishments and shopping. We would definetly stay hear again if we return to Belfast.
We did have breakfast in the hotel restaurant (which was included in the room price) and it was fine, just like most hotel breakfasts.

My colleague and I stayed here on an deal which included dinner. While the hotel room and staff were very accommodating, the restaurant did not meet our expectations. They had no record of our reservation so we had to wait at the bar. We ordered the steak and chips at an additional charge, plus wine. Both dishes turned up cold, the steak was fatty and tough and pretty inedible, the chips cold and looked like they had been reheated more than a few times. We had to send our dishes back to be microwaved once again! The wine while not cheap, was probably the worse we have ever tasted, the only saving grace was that we were not charged for it because of the poor service and bad food.

Yes the hotel is in a great location. the rooms are very reasonably priced and the staff are very helpful, however the restaurant is more Little Chef than a four star property that is "frequented by famous celebrities"
