Belfast Sightseeing Cruise: Titanic Quarter and River Lagan
Reviewed 4 August 2014

This was honestly one of the worst things about our trip through the UK and Ireland. We were so excited to see the Titanic sights and learn more about the construction of the ship. What we really learned: the price of the condo developments going up along the river.

The seating arrangements were haphazard at best. There was a binder on a table that nobody mentioned was filled with supplementary material until we were getting off the boat. The commentary was dull and insipid. Sincerely, we learned nothing. If the tour operators cared to show an interesting perspective of the history of Belfast, there would be so much possibility for the tour. As it stands, though, it seems like a cash grab.

The only redeeming aspect of the tour was that we got to see seals.

Save your money. Go to Titanic Belfast instead. At least there you get a good perspective on Belfast at the time the Titanic was built, as well as the ship itself and the tragic sinking.

We booked this excursion for 8 family members and had an enjoyable time but the hour flew by, we could have stayed longer! The Lagan Boat Co staff were very friendly and the audio presentation by one of the crew was informative and funny. We were fortunate that we had clement weather to enjoy the trip, but there is covered seating if required, especially in our climate in NI. We thought it was good value for money £68 for a family ticket, 2 concession adults, 1 other adult & child (8 in total). The boat can also be hired for hen/stag parties, any celebration really.
We thoroughly enjoyed this day out and would have no hesitation recommending to others.

The boat trip lasts for about an hour and shows the sites relating to the construction of the RMS Titanic and there are plenty of other sites to see such as the inspiration for Gulliver in Gulliver's Travels - and even seals. The commentary is informative and interesting and the trip value for money.

Good fun for a night out as part of a group for a party as you can bring lots of drink and play your own music etc. takes about 2 hours going out the lough and back. There's not a great deal to see but it's something different and a bit of fun!
