Spacious, modern apartment very well furnished with beautiful sea views and less than 100 metres from a sandy beach and a lovely country park. Ample car parking with great reception room, two spacious double bed rooms and a small single bed room
We stayed in the Driftwood apartment, which has fantastic sea views from the balcony and within a one minute walk from a beautiful sandy beach.
The apartment is situated in the well heeled area of Helens Bay and is within easy access to major road networks, airports and the ferry terminal.
Bangor is a short drive away and is well served with shops, eateries, takeaways etc.
Bangor also boasts a beautiful harbour area.
During our three night stay we managed to visit the Giants Causeway,Belfast Cathedral,Hillsborough Castle, Stormont Estate Parliament buildings, Bushmills Whiskey Distillery and the Ulster Museum and are all worth a visit.
We would highly recommend a stay in the Driftwood, as the apartment is perfectly situated and very well equipped and would be ideal for single visitors, couples and families alike.
Thank you to the owner and his wife for the ease of booking and the information given to enrich our stay.
We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed at Batwatch with my wife and son. The place is well equipped and has lovely views out over the estuary. We quite often just sat, with the doors open onto the balcony, watching the sea and ships running in and out of Belfast harbour.
The beds are comfortable and kitchen well equipped. The only thing I would advise is that the 3rd bedroom is small and has no window.
There is easy access to a pleasant beach and not too far from the station. There aren't really any eating places in Helen's Bay, but it is only a short drive to Bangor, where there is a surprisingly wide choice.
Overall great area to visit and place to stay.
We came over from England and stayed in the baywatch apartment. The view was breath taking and the apartment was pure luxury with everything you need. We would highly recommend to anyone and we are looking forward to coming back again.
The spectacular view from Driftwood's living room overlooking Helen's Bay is breathtaking. Bright, clean, modern, and efficient, the beach apartment housed our family of four in great comfort and style. The golf course, entrance to one of Helen's Bay's beaches, Crawfordsburn Country Park with the Woodlands Cafe, and the train station leading to Belfast City are all within a short walk, so the location is excellent. Despite the unpredictability of Irish weather, we felt we were on a European beachside vacation.
We stayed 7 nights and it was such a treat. I'm from Bangor so know the area and have stayed in many places locally - but it's going to be hard to book anywhere different in future! We loved being so close to the beach, walking to Holywood one day and down to Bangor another. Evenings on the beach when the day trippers had gone, or early morning runs before they arrived, were especially relaxing. My family and friends who stopped by were all very impressed , and keen to enjoy a coffee or wine on the balcony.
The bed was amazingly comfy. I never usually sleep the first night away, but the room was just so comfortable that I was out like a light.

We stayed at Driftwood in July 2016 after staying at Baywatch last year. As repeat guests we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. Everything about these apartments is fantastic! From the location to the mod cons to the most luxurious bed I have ever slept in. The kids, 9 and 4 love the fact they can watch DVD's in bed whilst the grown ups can relax upstairs watching the lights from the ships and lighthouse over a glass of wine. Having in laws and close friends in Northern Ireland this is a fantastic location to meet friends and spend a day on the beach (you can pop back to apartment to fill the flask for tea and coffee as often as you want during a picnic) and then pop to Pickie Park in Bangor. We love it that much we have booked for Christmas. Can't wait to come back.
