You've got to wonder about a hotel that takes pride at informing guests about the number of times it has been bombed. Go up the stairs and you'll think you were in a history museum. Seating area for afternoon tea is in plush leather sofas but service is very slow and inexperienced. We asked for scones with raisins and they came back with one and the other was plain. We sent it back and they came with another plain one and then with one they had put in the microwave with some chocolate chip to make it look like raisins. They finally admitted they had no more raisin scones, but why not just say so? But they did have the grace to offer us the scone for free after all that. Quiet place for a private chat though and tea is good if pricey.

“Sit in the bar at a window seat and watch Belfast go by,. Avery relaxing hour”

They dont sell Guinness here but the Murphys was fine. You could spend an hour on the staircase reading the paper reviews and photos of gentry who have stayed. Not to mention the Bombing

“Tea for Two at the Beautiful Europa”
Reviewed 13 May 2013

What a beautiful way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I took my mum for afternoon tea and then onto The Opera House for The History of the Troubles, her much awaited Mother's Day gift! From the minute you walk into The Europe we felt special! We were greeted by a really lovely waitress called Veronica on leaving the lift at the 2nd floor Piano Bar, she showed us to our window seat, which was the best seat in the house for my mum as she loves to watch the world go by! The Pianist was playing away in the background a lovely mix of both old and new. The selections of teas were amazing and and the beautifully displayed tea stand was delicious, with the most heavenly bite size sweet and savour delights. We decided not to get the Prosecco addition but instead finished our treat with a beautifully made Bailey's Coffee and a Strawberry Daiquiri which was made and delivered by a lovely Maltese man who chatted away and was very friendly (Sorry didn't get his name!). Thanks for a amazing afternoon and will most definitely be back again!

“Afternoon Tea with the Classics!!!”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

What a brilliant way to spend the afternoon with the girls!!! Myself and some of my chums went along on Saturday for afternoon tea and to watch the classic "Grease" - the afternoon tea was superb - one of the best I've had yet!! The luxurious range of sandwiches left us spoilt for choice, not to mention the delicate scones and many pastries (oh and the Prosecco, we can't forget the Prosecco!!).

Helen (who I believe was the Assistant Manager??) was genuinely lovely - ensuring that the afternoon was made memorable... and the attentive waiting staff, who were dressed up for the occasion, just added to the whole experience.

I'm delighted that there are more 'Afternoon Tea with the Classics' planned... can't wait for the next one!! (I promise to practice on the singing voice before then!!!)

Thanks again for a great afternoon... the girlies look forward to seeing you all soon!! :)
