Description: The Dock is an 'Honesty Box Cafe' - in which the coffee, fresh buns and hot soup are offered with no price tag - just faith in the goodness of people and trust that they will pay a fair price into the Honesty Box. That faith has kept the doors open and the shelves stocked for 18 months, and as far as we can ascertain we remain the only exclusively Honesty Box Cafe in the world. The cafe was furnished completely through donations of furniture, artwork, sculpture and shipyard memorabilia, creating a funky, eclectic atmosphere full of talking-points and conversation starters. Everyone involved is a volunteer - many of them local residents and students from the college who enjoy being part of building community life in their new home.

My girlfriend and I popped in for a bite before going to the ss nomadic. Great range of teas, lovely soup and delicious scones. The volunteers are really friendly and the artwork and decor is cool. Brilliant concept with the honest box idea, and I bet most people probably put in more than it would usually cost because of the quality and service. Totally recommend.

This is a true find. You can get tea, coffee, tray bakes and soup plus bread. And all you do is put what you think it's worth into the HONESTY BOX. The money keeps the first in NI open and is a meeting place for all and the Prayer Garden is a plus it's run by a minister form the Church of Ireland but not ramped down your throat. LOVE IT.

On family day trip to Belfast/Titanic Experience we happened upon this fabulous place. Really welcoming, relaxed and quirky. Great concept with its 'honesty box' and BYOF policy. Suitable for all age groups. Play corner with books, toys and board games for the very young. Musical instruments for those inclined to share their musical talents, a prayer corner for relaxation and reflection, a gallery with photos and paintings, lots of artifacts on Titanic and lots and lots of books. Miss match furniture is very tastefully arranged to provide lots of different cozy seating areas. All in all a great experiece and one not to be missed if visiting Belfast.

This is an AMAZING place and somewhere everyone should go when visiting Belfast! Great people, tasty treats, yummy coffee and tea, chill atmosphere, and very comfy places to sit! The wonderful thing about it all is The Honesty Box! You choose what you would like and then give the donation of your choice.

We happen to stumble upon this lovely cafe and decided to give it a try. It was the best place we could have stumbled upon and my favorite place in Belfast so far. The environment is light and cozy, the staff are kind, and the customer chooses the price they pay for the service. I would return to Belfast to visit the dock again.
