“Extremely Compact, Central Location”
Reviewed 11 February 2014 via mobile

3 friends shared a room of a double bed with a single bunk overhead. The room is so small it really is a task to manoeuvre around. The shower unit and sink are in your room so you really want to be comfortable who you're sharing with as it offers no privacy. Likewise the toilet is just behind a light door like a wardrobe. If you were just going out with someone say it would be a nightmare. It is smack bang in the middle of pubs, clubs and restaraunts. No need for taxis. The multi storey is directly opposite with a discounted price of £8 for 24 hours. There is a club directly beside it with a smoking area beer garden so there is a lot of street noise. There was drunken row on our floor on the Saturday night and no sign of Hotel staff were not aware of it. No phone in the room to ring reception. The hotel offers free wifi however I was unable to connect to it but did so easily in the nearby Wetherspoons. It is spotlessly clean and when you manage to lie down , comfortable. I would only recommend for one night if your going on a night out.

A strange hotel with a tiny cocoon room, but an extra large bed leaving only 18 inches between the end of the bed and the wall. Just enough to squeeze past. No where to put a suitcase. No bathroom, but hand basin in the room and a capsule shower and separate toilet. There was no shampoo provided and nowhere to put any shampoo in the shower except the floor and nothing to hold onto (if you are unsteady). Tiny cake of soap provided which wasn't replaced one day. No where to hang the towel and no where to hang any clothes after washing. No wardrobe or clothes hanging facilities, but three coat hangers provided. No telephone in the room. TV can be set for an alarm to wake you. No carpet on floor. Quite a good buffet continental breakfast is available. Reception did not know about local buses, but were very helpful in airline check-in. Good position close to bus and rail stations and to downtown. Good value for a short stay.

As a budget hotel, the etap is good value. The room was clean and modern, all of the facilities within worked. It is slightly odd that the shower and sink are in the bedroom, but as a couple we did not find this a problem (maybe don't stay in a double with just a friend - not sure what the layout for a twin room would be?). The location of this hotel is excellent, with QUB within close walking distance, as well as many places to eat out.

From the friendly staff to the small but clean and comfortable rooms this hotel represents value for money at its best. Kelly on reception was the perfect ambassador not just for ETAP but also for Belfast

Great location right in the city. Parking is a couple minutes away and cost 8 euro with hotel discount. Hotel offers continental breakfast but I did not try. Two minutes walk down the road is whetherspoons where you can get an ulster fry for 2.49. Really nice bar next door and fantastic garden. We stayed midweek was no problem with noise. Rooms were basic but clean. Shower is a bit strange you open the shower door and you are in the bedroom. Beds are a bit hard but did not bother me. Wifi available in the room just have to sign in. Staff were very friendly.
Good location and good budget hotel.

We had a great stay at this hotel. We would definitely stay again! The hotel is in a very central location close to everything and was a fantastic price. The rooms were compact but comfortable and cosy.
