Can't say I like this artwork. From many directions it is handicapped by the fact that there are very distinctive and beautifully decorated buildings behind it. By comparison it looks like what it is, some plain metal curves. The pedestal is also popular as a place to sit.

The fact that you can see right through it is a plus, it doesn't block the view! I must also confess that the joins and hard to see and the welding is not obvious. It is also a great improvement on the horrid-looking plastic bandstand that was here a few years ago.

This sculpture is at CornMarket Belfast City Centre. Bustling with shops and restaurants. This exhibit represents, the rope works, the linen industry, and shipbuilding. Northern Ireland at the height of it's industrial age.

The "Spirit of Belfast" is a public art sculpture, situated in Arthur Square, on the main entrance route to Victoria Square, shopping center. It's kind like the Cleary's Clock of Belfast, as many people seem to meet there. Its been there since 2009 and it cost 200,000 pounds. On weekends, you get street artists preforming there, and sometimes attract large crowds.

Its designed to show the lightness of linen, and the strength of shipbuilding, two important aspects of Belfast.
