“Enjoyable visit”
Reviewed 12 January 2014 via mobile

2nd time here and it won't be the last.
Nice staff, good surroundings and good food coupled with value for money - what more could you want. Even though it was busy (always a good sign) there was a minimal waiting time - they've really got their act together.

“Excellent food and excellent service”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

Stopped there on way to catch ferry to Scotland.

Welcomed by a friendly, helpful waitress. Wide choice of menu and decided to choose Fresh, crispy fried Atlantic cod. Didn't have to wait long and the dish was beautifully presented. Fish was delicious one of the nicest I have ever tasted. The hand cut chips were perfect and the mushy peas very tasty. Fantastic for £9.95. Set me up nicely for the ferry crossing and would definitely return

“the portside burger is good”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

the young male waiter was very pleasant, the young female could of put a smile on her face.
the vegetable soup was very bland, i think they missed out on the seasoning while it was cooking.
the prawns in the stir fry dish were nice but the carrots were raw, they were to thick to be cooked in a stir fry.
the portside burger looked great and tasted great.

“If your desperate on your way to the car ferry it does”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

I stopped off at the portside on my way home from a visit to Belfast
On entering the place seemed OK, clean, staff very pleasant. I decided to have one of the specials, Guinness and steak pie with mash. What a disappointment, the portion was adequate, the slice of pie was awful, the steak was dried out and it had a very odd taste, the pastry was dry and I left most of that. The veg was average but microwaved mash in Ireland is almost a sin.
I really couldn't recommend it
