“Food was great but other things need fixed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

This restaurant had been booked for 8pm about 4 weeks in advance for a party of 4 but when we arrived there was no table available and we were advised to wait in the bar next door for about 15 mins. However, some kind diners who had finished heard the problem and quickly offered to vacate their table for us. We all had a main course of sea bass which was delicious. The other 2 fish dishes were no longer available. The first bottle of wine brought to the table was the wrong one and the large bottle of water was not chilled, Furthermore, the teas ordered were lukewarm. However, the service was fine and the price of the teas was taken off the bill. The restaurant had was a good atmosphere but very noisy.

“Nice food felt a bit rushed towards end”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

We have eaten here before and as before had a lovely meal. Went for the £25
for two courses with wine, then bought puds as well. Food is delicious and the staff are generally helpful and attentive. It did get really noisy as the evening progressed and would be difficult for someone with a hearing problem (or tinnitus) to cope with. At booking we were not told that we had to vacate the table for 8.30, and were a little disappointed to be told by a waitress at 8.00 that if we wanted coffee/puddings should do so ASAP as another party was booked on our table at 8.00 sharp. Sorry but this took the shine of an otherwise excellent evening.

“A long wait for hungry people!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014 via mobile

A hungry party of six arrived at 9.05am on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. Good start. Straight into the main course we all agreed as we all had sweet tooth for dessert. Just in case let's order some bread and tapinade. Orders placed at 9.15 and wine served with the bread at 9.20. Looking good. 9.30, 9.45, 10pm, 10.15 --- seriously hungry people?
After pushing food finally served at 10.20pm. We all agreed that the food was fantastic but to be kept over an hour when suffering hunger pains just put a damper on the overall enjoyment of the evening. Why?
No excuses for slow service, if you can't deliver either increase the kitchen staff or reduce the covers!
By the way no excuses or apologies given by the management. They must be doing so well they appear to be dropping the ball. It's good that there is adequate dining choices in Ballyhackamore
