Nearly got killed here along with my partner and her daughter today 9th August 2014 by a young guy driving a wedding car up one of the small roads which clearly had a sign, 'no cars beyond this point' This road is coming down from the kiddies playpark towards the bottom entrance and coffee shop.. Lovely park apart from inconsiderate wedding guests. The cafe is very poor looks like a prison canteen..

On arrival, gates were closed but quickly opened by staff so cars could get a little closer to to flower beds to save everyone walking. The gardens were looking fantastic after the previous weeks flower show. the female member of staff who took a little time to explain some of the roses and cut some roses for the flower girls was very helpful. The weather was kind to us for the photographs to make it a wonderful day with the flowers in wonderful colour.

Paid a quick visit to the park and whilst I didn't have time to view everything it was certainly a lovely place with thousands of wonderful roses. Some were just going off bloom but that's just nature and to be expected! Thousands more at the height of their beauty. Glad I called in to take a look.

A premier rose display - an absolute waste of time and very disappointing. Roses in poor conditions.

Visited on 19:7:14 in the afternoon with my three grandchildren. ( 13; 7 & 1 ). Hadn't walked more than 100 m and already expirenced two sets of dog poo on grass . Two of the children were running on the grass and one was doing cartwheels. We took to the road up to the children's park area . Not a lot there for them and few people about ; although most had children with them . This area had various type of litter scattered about . I had been expecting lots of people . I spoke to the ice cream vendor and gathered from him the crowds hadn't been much better in numbers during the earlier part of the day . There were plenty of dogs about : most with owners . Some dogs on lead and some not . There was one sign I noted that had a ' dog fouling notice ' indicating a fine for this behaviour . The same sign had a ' dog on lead ' instruction . Also outlining a fine for disregard of this bye law !! Scant regard was being paid to either bye law . On the way back to car via the Roses we noted other dog fouling indiscretions . All this and only two days to go to Rose week ! How would I describe what I seen ? Dirty !!! Dangerous for children . Disregard for bye laws and obliviously no one enforcing them and no one cleaning the rubbish away . Disappointing experience and we certainly won't be back . If you've kids ; don't let them do cart wheels , don't let them wander more than a few feet away ........ Or you may find they catch something they didn't bargain for .
