“Quirky monument in Belfast Bus Station”
Reviewed 27 December 2013

To be honest, I have walked past this monument several times without really noticing it, until I read about it in "Belfast in you Pocket". It was commissioned by Ulsterbus, and John Kindness created it in 1989. He also did the "Big Fish" at Donegall Quay, and if you look at it up close, you will notice the similarity. Its a 5 meter high avalanche of ceramic memorabilia from all over Northern Ireland, and it supposed to represent all the places that Ulsterbus goes. You'll see Bushmills, the Ulster Fry, the Guildhall etc. Take a closer look the next time you pass.
