First ones to arrives at 6pm and was shown to a nice bright long restaurant by friendly attentive staff.
Apparently Tefords has been given a makeover (this was my first visit) and the decor has changed to a neutral modern European theme from previous nautical theme however I liked the decor and the tables were compact without being intrusive to each other.
We ate off the pre theatre menu having duck rolls and beef for a main which was delicious.

Will definitely be back.

Have been going to Tedfords for over 15 years and whilst always on expensive side would have said that Tedfords was best restaurant in Belfast. Sadly on our latest visit stanards have clearly dropped. Service was good and no complaints on that score but portions are smaller but the food just not as good as previous visits. For starter got grilled mackeral with crab cake. The mackeral was undercooked and I would have expected skin to be slightly crispy not so. The crab cake was stodgy and lacked flavour. For main got roasted cod the fish was great but there was a back ground taste that ruined the whole dish slightly perfumed taste, my other half got beef and lo and behold the same taste ran through her dish also. I am not sure what went wrong but our meals were ruined.
We looked at dessert menu but both of us felt let down and decided against. We have bern to Tedfords many times but now feel that with the very expensive prices and drop in standards we are unlikely to return.

Just home from Tedfords for our wedding anniversary meal. The food was excellent, really delicious but the service was absolutely atrocious. For the first while we were one of only two tables in the restaurant but later on it filled up. The staff were so cold and frosty, I've honestly never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant in my life. The service was slow and staff barely smiled never mind asked if our meals were ok or if we needed anything else. We didn't even order dessert, we just wanted to leave as soon as we could. A real let down for what could have been a great night!!

Visited this restaurant recently after hearing good reports from friends. First course was excellent but my wife was slightly disappointed with her main course. Staff were told but made no real comment on her complaint. Shared a sweet/pudding and we both wished we hadn't as it was very disappointing-not in presentation but taste.
However we will definately visit again.

Very good value pre-theatre menu for those looking to try Tedfords out. Tuesday to Saturday 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Around £25 for 3 courses. I had pea soup for starter (amazing) and curried cod for the main. Portion size was good. We were even provided with complimentary chips.

The de-constructed desserts weren't up to the standard of the rest of the meal and they should probably rethink that part of the menu, but other than that everything was really good.

Superb service as well.

PS You can park round near the Royal Mail building after 6pm for free and it is a 2-3 minute walk form there.
