The Anglican Churches are deliberately less elaborate than their Catholic counterparts, as is this compared to st Patrick's Roman Catholic Cathedral. However, it has far more design elements than most, including a red ceiling, large colorful painting over the altar and limited Gothic touches. The juxtaposition of this Church and the Catholic Cathedral on two opposite hills with violence and discrimination going on below them in the name of religion is striking.

Wonderful historic building, great sense of history about the building, nice walk up to it and interesting contract to nearby RC cathedral. Worth visiting and reading up about before hand

St Patrick's Church of Ireland Cathedral is plainly and simply decorated, but it is by far the most beautiful one I visited in all Ireland. There is a great view of the town from the gardens. Inside, there is a magnificent altar piece and mindblowing woodcarving in the quire. I was lucky to enter when there was no one else around and the organ was being rehearsed: I thus enjoyed a blissful private recital in an immaculate setting. It is the original church of the actual St Patrick, so it cannot be omitted from any visit to the area.

Having lived in Armagh for almost 20 years and visiting the CoI Cathedral many times, I'm ashamed to say I had no idea there were such beautiful gardens on the grounds!
The manicured hedges and the beautiful scented roses with the gorgeous views just make this place a beautiful spot to visit. The Cathedral itself is full of historically stunning architecture, well worth the visit.
