“Giro d'italia armagh!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2014

We stopped off on our way home from Dublin to see the Giro d'Italia in armagh and were very lucky to have already booked in with Bernie and Gerry as the town was packed! We were very impressed from the minute we arrived. Battleford B+B is a beautiful country bungalow a few miles outside armagh city, in lovely surroundings. Our family room was warm, cosy, spotless and quiet. It was nice to have a double and two single beds and not a sofa bed in sight much to the kids delight! Our hosts gave us great local information and advice. We had a great nights sleep and breakfast was fabulous and faultless. Gerry is a fine chef! This gave us a great start for the days festivities in armagh. The kids said it was the best place they've ever stayed in and we will plan a return! Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The family room is perfect size for 2 adults and 2 children

Only spent one evening here at this B&B, booked last minute as a result of working in the area, but I'll be back for sure and telling others! I've been blown away by the the high quality of Battleford, and the hosts attention to detail - Bernie and Gerard really love to welcome people and it shows from the minute they greet you at the door. They understand how to make your stay enjoyable with lots of useful local information, but neither are they intrusive - they also give you your own space.

The accommodation is beautiful set in roaming Armagh countryside. The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated and had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in - everything is also immaculate! The house is bright, airy and lots of natural light - but not a spec of dust anywhere - the house is as cared for as the guests!!

I had a generous Irish breakfast cooked to perfection, and was delighted that they had a big selection of herbal teas. There's also a lovely lounge area in the large landing where guests can chill out, make tea or coffee.

Highly recommend this place for individuals, couples and families (there's a large family room also with double and 2 single beds). It's in a quiet gorgeous country area, only about 3 miles from Armagh City and 50 minutes from Belfast. You can't go wrong. Really!!

Bernie and Gerard were the most wonderful, welcoming, friendly hosts, we felt immediately at home at Battleford. Nothing was too much trouble, Bernie has so much local knowledge and helped to ensure that we were able to enjoy our visit to Armagh all the more. She recommended a great local pub for our evening meal and rang ahead to check availability and book a table. The bedrooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious. The seating area upstairs was great for having a cup of tea and relaxing. And the cooked breakfast was amazing, every item you could possibly want, perfectly cooked and presented. It was complimented by a great selection of cereals and yoghurts etc. The B&B is in a lovely quiet location and within easy reach of Armagh and lots of visitor attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend this B&B.

We chose this B&B as it was close to the village where my ancestors were. What a pleasant surprise. Bernie & Gerard were delightful hosts and very informative for directions and where to eat. There is a great sitting area at on the landing at the top of the stairs. Great place to sit and relax with a book or a laptop.
Breakfasts were very good and filling.

Beautifully presented large b&b in which we had the family room (1 double 2singles) with en suite shower room. Flat screen tv with free view. On the top landing was a sofa area with tea and coffee facilities.great location , we travel from here to Belfast to the titanic exhibition in about 40 mins . Breakfast was fab , everything cooked to perfection and a great choice of cereals, yoghurt and fruit juices. Host were lovely and welcoming and organised for us to go for a meal locally when we arrived. Great value for money and would definitely use again and recommend

A visit to amagh led us to this beautiful countryside bed and breakfast. This large family home operates as a b and b with with delightful owners Bernie and Gerard on site to look after your every need in a professional yet friendly manner. The room that we stayed in was nicely decorated and everything spotlessly clean, as is the rest of the premises. A comfortable bed and quite countryside led to a great nights sleep. An alcove in the upstairs provides comfortable lounge with tea an coffee making facilities. Breakfast is served in a down stairs sunroom with cereals, yogurts and a full cooked breakfast. The property is easy to find approximately 3 miles out of town. Suit self driven travellers looking for a restful break during busy travelling schedule. Highly recommended if venturing into this area.
