Stay here was great. Cottage was all I thought it would. The scenery was awesome. It's the perfect setting both for relaxation and also for getting out and about. Hosts, Cindy nd Leo could not have been any friendlier. I will definitely go back.
We found the cottage on the internet and wanted to book it immediately as we fell in love with it, it was better than the pictures the cottage was exactly what we wanted and we had a fabulous time and we are hopeful to stay at number 23 again.
My wife and I stayed here for a week last June (2016). I am from Castlewellan but my parents have now passed away and I came home for a week, from York, with our two wee dogs. It was just wonderful and this quaint wee cottage brought back so many happy memories from my childhood.
The area is a truly hidden gem of Ireland. There is so much beauty, history and things to do. If you're reading this then go for it! You won't regret it. Sorry Cindy that it has taken so long to write this review but you so deserve it.
Thanks for a wonderful service.
Lovely cottage beautiful views and lovely couple who own the cottage, however the fridge didn't work so no way to keep our food cold for the first 2 days untill it was replaced, bed very uncomfortable and electric went out on the last morning of our stay resulting in no breakfast and no shower which may I add was a trickle of water, but we still had a lovely stay
Just returned from an amazing weekend with my young son and friend at brigadoon. The scenery all round the cottage is breathtaking, you could sit all evening with a glass of wine and just look at the view. The cottage itself is compact and cosy but doesn't feel cramped with open fires in both the living room and the bedroom. The kitchen is small but functional with all the amenities you'd need to cook a proper meal. There is a small tv and dvd, there's also a raidio in the kitchen, plenty of room for 2 or 3 people. The pressure of a busy life just fades away the moment you arrive and relaxing is the order of the day. The cottage is a short drive from Castlewellan and Newcastle we're you can shop or find some lovey places to eat ( I recommend seasalt cafe in Newcastle, fantastic food and coffee) also practically on your doorstep is tullymore forest park with its great walks. Cindy and Leo are great hosts, very friendly and helpful, and you'll also be greeted by a friendly cat, my son nicknamed wee cat! Who'll come and go the during your stay...Ps it likes a dish of milk.
We will definitely be returning to the cottage in the future, and I can highly recommend a stay here if you need a short break to recharge the batteries...
