“Best salads ever!”
Reviewed 2 June 2012

Being a local and lunching there reqularily, thought it time I recommend this cafe/deli to anyone visiting the area. Fabulously friendly staff who have been there many years, which speaks volums for the owner. Try any of the salads, especially those including fruit, the dressings are delicous, and don't be afraid to ask for an alternative as the chef is always open to giving you exciting choices. Nice busy eatery with free coffee refills. Takeaways, and deserts too.

“Not as good as it used to be!”
Reviewed 6 April 2012

This place used to be fantastic, and well worth the queue up the narrow stairs!
Don't know what supplier they are getting their chicken from but it's rubbery watery tasteless chicken!!
Apart from that it's good but could do with some new wallpaper and lick o paint!
Waiting staff are excellent and once seated service is always quick!
Please CHANGE your chicken and we will be back all the time!!

Consistently top quality food and service. Sometimes you may have to wait because it can be busy, but that is simply a reflection of its popularity.

“TASTIEST, FRIENDLIEST, HEALTHIEST AND BEST VALUE CAFẾ IN CO.DOWN!!!”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

Lovely selection of salads, toasties, wraps, and drinks. All food can be suited to you dietary and taste buds needs! The Daily Grind was the first cafe in N. Ireland not to use fried food and not to have a microwave. Which is why it is soooo healthy!

SALADS
The range of the salads are exquisite and are absolutely gorgeous and are amazing value. Prices for a great sized salad are between £4 - £7 and can be suited to your taste. If you want a smaller size the price is reduced by £1 - £2. If you want a really really really brilliant salad ask for a Johnny special (Johnny is the lovely owner and chef). Johnny will make the salad to your taste but put a special Johnny twist on it.

TOASTIES/SANDWICHES/WRAPS
The toasties are gorgeous and are defiantly not your average toastie! The range of ingredients range form jalapeños to sun-dried tomatoes, from red onion to bacon, from cucumber to beef, from peppers to chicken, from lettuce to cherry tomatoes. There are loads. The homemade sauces range from sweet chilli, ceaser, BBQ, chilli mayo, mayo, vinaigrette and balsamic vinegar.

COFFEE/TEA/DRINKS
Delicious range of coffee with different flavours such as caramel, cinnamon, vanilla etc. There is the regular tea or earl grey, nettle, mixed fruit, cranberry, lemon, green, strawberry etc
The cold drinks election is lovely. From the gorgeous Pink lemonade, Coca-Cola, Diet Coca Cola, Sprite, Orange Fanta, Five Alive and of course water!

HOT CHOCOLATE
The Hot Chocolate is heavenly! You can get the regular hot chocolate topped with marshmallows or the DULUX HOT CHOCOLATE! It is made with either Cadburys or Aero hot chocolate powder (you can request) topped with cream, marshmallows, chocolate sauce and a Flake! Yummy!

TRAYBAKES/DESSERT
These are all lovely and handmade*
Malteaser and Mars-bar bun - Caramel Square - Devilish Chocolate Sponge (not hand made) - Bannoffee Pie with does not include banana in the recipe put puts fresh bananas on it because there are some people who do not like bananas. In this case it can be topped with fresh fruit. The banoffee is this covered in either caramel or chocolate sauce and cream if wanted.

SCONES
The fruit scones are absolutely lovely and great value. They can be grilled to be warmed or toasted.

BREADS
Brown and white bread but also gluten free breads. Ask for Onion bread - absolutely incredible! There is ciabatta bread as well as wheaten bread and bread rolls.

SOUP
Served from September/October to April/May. The soups are all homemade are great. My personal favourite is blue cheese and celery. There is also Potato and leek, broccoli and cauliflower and others!

GO THERE AND HAVE AN ABSOLUTLY GORGEOUS MEAL WHICH YOU WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER!
