Owner description: Castle Ward will take you on a journey of discovery. The 18th-century eccentric house with two distinctly different styles, classical and Gothic, will entice you to explore further. This truly beautiful 332-hectare (820-acre) walled demesne, with walking trails, exotic garden, stunning vistas and picturesque farmyard, will unlock your imagination through family history, leisure pursuits, events and industrial heritage. A children's pastimes centre and laundry room are a short walk from the house in the stableyard, alongside a gift shop, second-hand bookshop and tea-room.

“Can't say anything to ward you off Castle Ward”

Lovely area to walk and talk and an interesting tour of the stately home is available. Check out the forward thinking of the man who designed it. (How to keep your wife happy)

This was the first of it's kind at Castle Ward and it was very well organised with plenty of stalls and activities. A great day out.

“Interesting house”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2012

We have been a few times to Castle Ward. The house is interesting to visit and the restaurant is lovely with fresh, home cooked food. The soup is delicious. There is a second hand book shop in the courtyard that is always worth a browse.
