Just outside Downpatrick. Ruins of the abbey in a lovely quiet setting. You could also visit Strule Wells also in the area, Delamont Country Park or Castle Ward.

Don't miss a visit to the ruins of Inch Abbey. Try to have some literature before you go as there isn't anything available there but there are brass plaques around each part of the ruins. It is the most peaceful and moving place to just spend time and absorb the atmosphere, while looking across the Quoile River towards the Cathedral on the hill beyond.

Really atmospheric Abbey ruins on the lough shore overlooking the town of Downpatrick, Great place for a picnic and plenty of room for children to run around and large open areas for a game of footie/ rounders! Sometimes a steam train runs between the Abbey and Downpatrick.
