“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2014

had dinner at Castillo recently with a group of 16 family members. The restaurant has a great ambiance. Located on the Main Street of Killough Village facing the harbour it's a beautiful spot. We ordered a variety of dishes from the Indian curry, pasta, chicken. The majority of us opted for the steak filet special. We started with the home-made bread accompanied with various dips. The balsamic dip was truly fantastic. The most delicious dip ever. Apparently, it takes over 4 hours to make. With that much love put into a small element of the meal you know you are in for a great dinner. The steak was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The food is high quality, locally sourced and is prepared and presented to the highest standards. Despite being full after dinner I was tempted to have the apple pie which I understand is made fresh each day by the chef's Mum! Delicious...save some room for this treat, you won't regret it. We had a great family meal but I could see this being a great spot for a romantic evening or special occasion. If you are looking for a great meal in a cosy spot with warm and professional staff do yourself a favour and book a table at Castillo.... Can't wait to go back.

“Below average”

We stopped off here for an impromptu lunch and really wish we had of kept on driving. The food was poor, lacked flavour and was inedible - certainly not value for money.
Apart from the interesting art work and decor, We would recommend eating in this establishment. We will give Castillo a miss next time we visit
Killough.

Family night out at Castillo. A night to remember. Delicious food. Medium rare lamb exceptional.Able to bring your own wine with no corkage charge.Emer our waitress friendly and informative without being intrusive. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would recommend it without hesitation. Keep up the good work Paul.
