I spent the June bank holiday weekend in this B&B as I was going to do hiking in the Mourne Mountains. The location was perfect. I just can categorized the accomodation as wonderful. The hosts were very welcoming, attentive, helpful, friendly and made my stay exceptional. The room was cosy, cute and spotless with a very good shower room. Huge selection of hot drinks available all the time. Breakfast was just amazing, freshly cooked with several options. Highly recommended! Great value!!!

Very welcoming hosts, the rooms are spotless with a good shower room. A huge selection of hot drinks are available on the corridor, shared by three rooms. The kettle was always topped up, with a jug of fresh milk beside it. Breakfasts freshly cooked with best ingredients. I recommend the poached eggs.

My husband and I spent our first night back in Ireland at Oakleigh House in Newcastle. The beautiful flowers in the garden were in full bloom. We received a very warm welcome with offerings of tea or a variety of delicious hot chocolates! The room was very nice with a great bed and shower. The view from the breakfast room was of the beautiful mountains and a pasture with cattle. We had a wonderful breakfast complete with potato waffles (YUM!)and great conversation and ideas for the day from Jan. The inn is very close to Tolleymore Forest Park which is a must see. The unique trees that line the entryway are breathtaking and so very old (over 200 years!) and the walks within the park are very peaceful and beautiful. We would definitely visit with Pam and Jan again!

i stayed here with 2 family members for a friends wedding reception. the location was beautiful as was the accomadation aswell. the staff were very attentive and very welcoming. the premises has an excellent adjoining conservatory which gives you personal access to your room and it also gives you great views of the stunning scenery as it is based at the foot of the beautiful slieve donard mountain. the breakfast we had on our day of departure was fantastic and very filling. this b&b has everything that you could possibly need for a short stay. i would highly recommend if for its excellent facilities and location and also its friendly environment and fantastic breakfasts, not to mention it's great value for money. brendan bradley.

Stayed here for a weekend break with my elderly mother. What a warm welcome we got on our arrival. The accommodation was excellent - rooms very comfortable and the food superb. Only problem was we couldn't eat it all - the breakfast keeps you going all day ! We were able to come and go as we pleased during the day - so my mum could have a rest after lunch - that was no problem at all. We really felt very relaxed- truly a home from home ! Will return at the earliest opportunity and would highly recommend.

stayed at Oakleigh house for one night, and was not dissapointed, we were made to feel very welcome with tea and coffee making facilities in the hall with plenty of lovely chocolate biscuits also.
The house was cosy, warm and clean, the bed was lovely and comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent and you could have all you wanted. Peaceful and tranquil.
Would highly recommend a visit.

Room Tip: We had a back room with a lovely view of fields, very quiet although I think the front would be as p...
