“Pleasant Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2014

Enjoyed 2 night bnb and 1 evening meal deal for £79 each. At this price its a steal. Excellent food and friendly staff. Yes the pool area is dated and probably due a refurb but it didnt spoil the fun with our toddler. Was slightly concerned with the hygiene in the changing rooms (floors)as it is shared with gym goers and was busy. You also have to cross a public corridor to reach the pool. There is a policy for wearing flip flops around the pool but not everyone was adhereing to this and random people frequently walked through the pool area with normal shoes on. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast in beautiful surroundings. Would stay again.

As with prevoius reviews I have made on this hotel, we always look forward to going. As far as other hotels it may not be as chic as some both in style and spa. But what it does have is friendly staff and very good food. We would usually go to this hotel at least twice a year, so I was disappointed to find they have now started charging an extra £10 just to have mountain view. That goes against everything I felt about the owner. We have booked for April but will think about going as frequent. There are many very good hotels out there giving very good offer, check out groupon !

Hotel is lovely, spacious and very clean. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. The food is superb! Breakfast has your continental and cooked to choose from or have both! We had dinner both nights in the hotel, once in the restaurant and once in the bar area. Very tasty and the presentation is fab.
I had a NewMum Spa treat and I must say it was the nicest most relaxing spa iv been in. Only a two minute drive from the town centre or a short walk away the Burrendale meets all of out needs and expectations and we will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. :-D

Decided to book a last minute stay as I had been given a voucher. Receptionist was extremely friendly on the phone and was able to accommodate us no bother.
I found it strange though that our room was meant to be a double bed room but it was two double beds in it. Only minor complaint is as it was windy and rainy the wind was howling threw the windows and it knocked the tv signal.
We had dinner in the Vine Restaurant - it was beautiful! and very reasonably priced. I would recommend cocktail lovers to get the strawberry daiquiri made with proper strawberrys and it was delicious.
If you looking a simple we weekend or night stay away from life this is the place to go!

Room Tip: we were in room 137- it was at the front of the building hardly any noise. bar and restaurant was li...

Got a late availability offer to stay on a Friday night which covered bed and breakfast and we had not stayed here before so decided to give it a try. Check in was very smooth and we had booked dinner which was confirmed on arrival. The room was nice and we where happy with the standard of cleanliness of it and the bathroom. Dinner was very good and the staff where very attentive. There was also entertainment provided in the lounge and it was easy listening. Breakfast was the normal hotel self service and was of a good standard with a lot of selections to choose from.

My only negative comment would be the size of the double bed which seemed quite small.

But I would not let this put me off going back or even recommending the hotel to others.

I visited the Vine Restaurant last week and it was a wonderful experience. When we arrived we were greeted by Pauline the manager who was exceptionally pleasant and helpful .
The restaurant was really busy that day and Pauline organised her staff in an unobtrusive manner ensuring the service was run to a very high standard. Excellent example of good management.
Our order arrived very promptly, and as for the food, where do I begin. They say that you start a meal by eating with your eyes, the presentation was delightful, colourful and with little nuances which showed a real effort had been put into the preparation
Now to taste. The food was Devine, all plates cleared.
The restaurant was so cosy with a relaxing ambience and magnificent views over the mountains.
A magnificent experience and I would highly recommend it .
Thank you

Stayed here for two nights no complaints the food was, excellent and the staff were extremely pleasant throughout the hotel. The gym was off a good standard I was surprised to read some negative comments on previous reviews. We have been too many gyms and this one is off a good standard. The views of the mountains just adds to the experience.
