Stayed 3 nights in a family room which was well appointed with everything you would expect, it was exceptionally clean and the kids loved the bunk beds! I also requested a fridge in the room which was great for keeping fruit, water and picnic items cool. Only down side to our room was that it had no view but that was minor.
The breakfast had a good choice of full irish breakfast and also fruits and breads and a good sized pot of tea or coffee which I could quite easily have sat and finished and looked at the amazing views of the Mournes from the dining room if the children had allowed!
We also had an evening meal in the restaurant which was delicious and portions sizes were huge!
There are so many seating areas it a great place to sit about and relax. We also had the pleasure of a live singer and it was mid week! The kids loved the pool and again the pool area and changing rooms were immaculate! All the staff were very friendly and helpful! We will definitely be returning and recommending!

Last year we had taken our parents with us for a birthday celebration...it was a Sunday evening and the resturant/bar was manic with children running crazy...the whole experience was bad and we eventually had to leave without food due to bad service and lack of customer service!
However, we knew by other reviews this was not the normal experience of food at the Burrendale..so we wanted to give them another chance. We went along on a recent Sunday evening and had an excellent experience...great food, great customer service by the waiting staff and overall a very pleasant evening. Thank you Burrendale, you have redeemeded yourselves

Just home from lovely few days at burrendale hotel.
Check in was quick, efficient and friendly. Lovely staff.
Our room was equipped with 2 double beds and 2 single beds. Beautiful view to The Mournes - with glorious weather, what a gorgeous view in the mornings when opening our curtains. The room was spotlessly clean. We did miss having a bath (we were advised this upon booking anyway) but the shower was very powerful and suited us fine.
Our 3 course Evening meal in hotel was absolutely delicious. Nothing to fault at all. Kids menu was very good. Our steaks were delicious.
Great variety at breakfast and everything fresh. Again, lovely table overlooking the Mournes.
We thoroughly enjoyed visiting the leisure facilities each day ( sometimes twice a day). However... Just one little gripe - on two occasions I emerged from the pool with someone's long dark hair entwined round my fingers.. It might be an idea to introduce the hat cap rule as other hotels have.
However, all in all a wonderful stay and we look forward to return again very soon

The menu for summer at the Burrendale is truly excellent. Fresh flavours, beautifully presented food all make for a lovely evening out. Service very professional. I recommend this as a place to give yourself a treat.

Stayed here Fri 13th with my Fiancee and my Mum And Dad. Hotel was great, though bedroom corridors and doors are out dated. Food in the Vine restaurant was excellent and wine list really reasonably priced. Spa has all you need though lockers a bit out dated. Outdoor patio area is really nice with a wee bar. Staff were brilliant especially Helen as I was concerned that the room next to my parents room there was quite a lot of noise. When I said to Helen I was concerned it may be noisy at night she insisted in giving my parents another room which turned out to be a better room. She said she did not want my Fathers day treat spoilt. It is touches like this that make you want to return. Would stay here before the Slieve Donard.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the newest part of the hotel. Rooms near 041 are good.

Called in on a Wednesday evening with friends for a meal. We were seated in the Cottage grill bar. Menu has changed and is very poor compared to previous menu. Service was extremely poor, waited for forty minutes to be served a main course, food was tasteless and lacking. Coffee was another ten to fifteen minutes to be served. We have been calling in to this Hotel for many years and always felt very welcome, good food, wonderful helpful staff, but something has changed, maybe management and it is now off our list.

My wife and I stayed at the Burrendale Hotel for 2 nights over the weekend of the 6-7 Jun 14. We were awoken by drunken guests making noise out side our room at all hours during both nights starting at 0330 hrs and finally stopping at 0500 hrs. I reported the matter to the hotel staff at the time and upon my departure but they didn't seem bothered! I will not be staying a this hotel again or recommending it to others! This hotel is also overpriced and needs up dating!

Room Tip: Do not book this hotel in wedding parties are being held at the same time as your stay.
