The waiting staff were lovely, helpful and very pleasant. It's a shame this can't be said for the rest of the restaurant. Don't expect fine dining or even French food as the name suggests. It's over priced and poorly cooked pub grub, aimed at Slieve Donard guests who look to the establishment as an alternative to the expensive hotel restaurant, expecting a similar quality to be applied. Unfortunately it fails miserably.

One best avoided.

Any time we are in Newcastle, we stop here for a drink and the surroundings are very nice, with an open fire in winter and sports coverage on several TV's if you are interested. Have eaten here a few times, most recently during a stay at the Slieve Donard hotel. Food is "ok", not haute cuisine, but decent enough. Most mains are £12 to £14 and desserts £6. Staff friendly. There are quite a few nice eateries in Newcastle though and probably cheaper!

Stayed in Slieve Donard for a couple of days with wife and son so decided to eat in PF as it is handy to the hotel and menu looks fine. Service very good but restaurant seemed a bit quiet considering hotel booked up - maybe most eat in the Oaks restaurant in the hotel.

All food reasonable but to be honest can't remember what I ordered now only 3 days later - no real issues - food slightly expensive for what you get - made up for by attentive staff - should have paid the bill I was given (table next to us) by mistake since it was £25 less than the one I finished up with - may have been more positive with the lower bill?!

Still worth a visit.

Excellent service, food is to die for, all food is sourced locally bit pricey but its well worth every penny when you taste what's on offer. To top it off there are spectacular views I can't wait to go again.
