“This is an excellent place to stay. 5 star, with 5 star treatment by owner”
Reviewed 5 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This is a beautiful and picturesque location in 5 star accommodation. The welcome by Myrtle and husband John is so warm and friendly. Also the scones and buns left in the cottage on arrival is a nice touch. Cottage is well and tastefully decorated with plenty of space both inside and outside the cottage. Have already recommended Kribben cottages to many friends and family and we will be back again soon. Thanks Jim,Lynda and Aaron Matchett.

“Perfect weekend escape.”
Reviewed 1 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Outstanding group of cottages at the foot of the Mournes. Perfect base for both adventure and relaxation...we walked to the top of Donard and on into newcastle from the cottage as well as enjoying the serenity of the spa in the slieve donard hotel. A warm welcome from the owners who couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended... we will be back!

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Kribben Cottages. We have many beautiful walks from the Cottages, from a gentle stroll or for the more energetic a hike to the top of Donard. Well done on reaching the summit of Donard, maybe you'll try Binnan next time!! We loved having you stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back soon:)

“Just WOW!”

Absolute Luxury from the electric gates to the wine glasses!
Set between the Mountains of Mourne and the Irish Sea Kribben Cottages are VERY deserving of their 4* status!
The bathrooms & showers are something really special and the decor throughout is both rustic and top class.
Even when it was blowing a gale outside (and is wasn't half!) The cottage was 'roasting' warm inside - we actually had to turn the underfloor heating off completely and just enjoyed the peat burning in the potbelly stove! Lush!
We were a LARGE group (20+) and took 4/5 cottages - to celebrate a special birthday. There were travellers from all over the world (Australia, NZ, NY, Germany & France) and the unanimous opinion were 'Kribben Cottages' are just fabulous!
The finer points: The Beds are MASSIVE - and VERY comfortable. The cottages are VERY well equiped (inc. a nice wee wheaten loaf there to welcome us!) Nice touch! They are 'spotlessly clean', and spacious inside. The 3 x 'cottages' have 2 bedrooms each and 2 x 'houses' have 3 bedrooms.
Funny, when reading the 'Visitors Books' EVERYONE said they would 'Definitely return to Kribben Cottages again'.... and the owners Myrtle & John just cannot do enough for every single person who stays there!
If you are looking for a VERY special retreat - but not a million miles from convenience shops (and The Harbour Bar - for lovely Guinness and SUPER food) then look no further!
5+++Stars all the way!

Stayed here as part of a group over New Years 2014. The cottage was beautiful, luxurious and extremely cosy. Set against the backdrop of the mountains and sea, one could not find a more picturesque place to escape to for a few days away! If you are a keen walker, this area is a must to visit. I would highly recommend Kribben Cottages to anyone. Thanks Myrtle & John for making our stay so memorable, we cannot wait to return!

“A small slice of Irish Idyll”
Reviewed 6 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

My family and I wanted to experience Northern Irish to experience culture and landscape from a comfortable home base. Kribben cottages amply fulfils that need. They look quaint and Irish from the outside but are modern and comfortable on the inside. Everything was impeccably clean and the beds are the type that just swallow you up in a nest of fluffy warmth. The cottages themselves have magnificent views of the sea to the front and the imposing Mourne mountains to the back. You can pop on your hiking boots and begin exploring immediately. Our children loved the freedom they had to play in surrounding fields. However, if you want to be in the middle of town next to pubs shops and restaurants you should know it takes about 10 mins to drive there. For our group being outside Newcastle was a bonus, but each to their own. Definitely recommend it. Its been one of our best cottage rentals yet.

“Excellent accommodation, would definitely use it again.”

Kribben cottages are newly built and are of a very high standard. They are spacious and clean, a real home from home! The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could possible need in the kitchen and beyond. There was even free wifi to keep the children happy.
We loved the private garden area at the back with decking and our own picnic table. Ideal for families with plenty of space for children to play. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The setting was idyllic and peaceful, looking out onto the Mourne mountains. Newcastle is just 6 -7 miles away and the village of Annalong is only a mile away with a good shop, fantastic chip shop, a restaurant and a chinese takeaway. I would highly recommend this accommodation. We had a thoroughly relaxing break and would definitely stay here again if we were in that area.
