Review of Bridge B&B
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 18 Feb 2018
If you are looking for a place to stay in Derry then just book this B&B , don't look for anything else. From the moment you enter the building until you leave you will feel so welcome and part of the family. When I arrived Keith was waiting for me and gave me all the information I needed about the B&B and Derry. He arranged so I had an early breakfast the next day before I took the train to Belfast. The rooms are spacious and cosy. I would suggest just that in the bathroom a bigger mirror would be better or a bigger one in the room. It is a bit difficult if you want to put make up on. Ursula had called a taxi for me fore the morning I left but when he didn't show up she drove me herself to the airporter station. There is no hotel that would do that for you and they had made me a breakfast package for on my bus. When staying at Bridge B&B you are in walking distance of the old centre of Derry, close to the shopping mall, close to the train station, etc...

Lovely old building, great decor, well situated, with wonderful views of the bridge. Bed was comfortable and a good size. Owners are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was tasty. Easily deserves its top TripAdvisor rating.

A beautiful older house with high ceilings and light simple decor. A personal welcome from the owner and staff. Excellent breakfasts, warm carpeted rooms and a perfect location for exploring Derry. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Room tip: Some traffic noise at front if windows open.

I only spent a night here a week ago, but the staff made me feel at home. It was a warm inviting spot on a terrible day.
The room was spotlessly clean and very restful.
I had a few questions as I am not that familiar with Derry the staff went out of their way to answer them completely.
I will stay there again.

We had such a great stay here. The hostess, Ursula, was like coming home to a long, lost friend or relative. She made us laugh and we wished we could have stayed a week, just to have her entertain us.

Room tip: if stairs are a problem, request the main floor.

This is a nice b&b in an excellent location just across the bridge and within a couple of blocks of the walled city. Since it is in an urban location there is no off street parking lot. Once the parking is explained you can move your car to a very inexpensive city lot nearby and leave it for a day or two. The walled city and the Bogside are all within easy walking distance. It's frankly a relief for an American driving in Ireland to be rid of the car for a while.
Often reviews talk about the size of bedrooms etc. What I think here is important is what one can learn about the history and experiences of the Irish people over the past several decades and the past several centuries. Derry affords that opportunity. And if one is fortunate enough to meet someone like the owner, Ursula, and her husband, Shawn, who grew up here it is a wonderful experience. The time I was able to spend with them is one of the best travel experiences of my lifetime. Thank you both so much for what you shared with my friends and me.

Room tip: you may wish to book a room on a lower floor and one that is en suite or at least close to the second floor bathrooms
