Troy Hall Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #14 of 44 Derry B&B and Inns
Reviewed 17 April 2012

Had a lovely stay with Michael. Ann was away and Michael attended to our every need. The room was amazing, so spacious. Bathroom modern and everything was perfect even down to the dressing gowns. The room was very clean and the linens were superb. Breakfast was delightful and again every attention to detail. Loved meeting daughter Karen and grandchildren helped serve our toast. Thank you girls. Would definitely recommend Troy Hall to anyone wishing to stay within easy walking distance to the lovely Derry.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Bronte Suite but any room would be lovely I am sure.

This beautiful turn of the century house offers wonderfully large, spacious rooms with beautiful view's of the city at night. There is a private bath that is both modern and roomy. Everything was spotless and well maintained. The house is located within walking distance (or a short cab ride-my personal preference) of the Peace Bridge and downtown.
The Doherty's are wonderful hosts who went out of their way to help us find a specific shirt that was requested from back home. Michael even found out what part of the store it was located in! The Doherty's also shared stories of what it was like living in Derry during the "troubles". Wonderful experience, thank you so much for enriching our visit to your wonderful country.

Hello Ann, Alaska,
Very pleased with your fine review but not so pleased about the shirt as it was for a Liverpool fan and I support Manchester United.
Liverpool are playing in the FA cup final as I write this response so I hope they do well.
Best regards,
Ann and Michael.

I cannot say enough good things about Troy Hall B&B. I was a guest there for one night but wish I could have stayed longer. The room was like a palace and it was hard to leave it. The room overlooked the wonderful lawn at the front of the house. Every detail was attended to including lovely dressing gowns and slippers on the bed.
The breakfast was delicious in the quaint breakfast room again with so much attention to detail. I would certainly return to Derry to visit and I will definitely be staying in Troy Hall and recommending it to all my friends. Thanks a million to Michael and his lovely family.

Room Tip: Belmont room was the one I stayed in

It was great to go back and visit family in Derry after all these years and stay somewhere so nice and quite yet close to everything, As you could see from the photos the house is a renovated mansion with all the original details and character restored. My wife loved it as did our kids. The garden was big enough for them to run around and play in and the rooms were very spacious. The owner (Mickey) was very accomodating and friendly. I would definately go back and stay.

A beautiful grand old stately home, rooms were gorgeous, we stayed in the Belmont suite, it had a double and two single beds. Ann greeted us when we arrived and gave us our keys. We were at a wedding so we didn't spend much time in the enormous room. Ann and Michael had a lovely full Irish breakfast waiting on us at 10 the next morning inc black pudding, potatoe and soda bread, which was just what we needed. At £70 a room maybe you could find cheaper in Derry but we loved it. And if 4 were sharing It would work out good value.

This is a great grand place to stay! The owners are charming and very helpful. The breakfast occurred in a wonderful lounge that was also available during the day and night. The rooms are exquisite, the biggest rooms we had in Ireland. Clean, roomy, bright and cheerful. Our stay could not be better.

Room Tip: Choose the Rosemont or Belmont suites
