We went into the Rocking Chair for a drink after dinner. The small public bar was full of every-day people singing some traditional and some not so traditional songs. We grabbed a drink and joined in the chorus. One of the barmen - Dermott - made himself known to us & looked after us like we were long time locals. The singing, joking and craic was fantastic and a part of Ireland that we had come to see. Hint - don't be embarassed by a lack of singing ability, join in and you'll have a wonderful time.

Waterloo Street runs from William Street up to Butcher's Gate, and you won't be stuck for a pint, if you happen to find yourself on it. It has a total of six bars, all on the right hand side as you head up it. Starting with Tracy's, Peadar O'Donnell's, The Gweedore, The Dungloe, Bound for Boston, and finally The Rocking Chair. During the Fleadh, it was packed, with the punters drinking on the street, and the craic was great.

You will find some of the best musicians in the City playing in these bars here every night of the week. Keep an eye out for the trad band in Paeders and also the lads who play in the Dungloe on thursdays and Tracys on Sundays/Mondays

This steep street in the City Centre is quite off the "beaten track" for tourists and visitors to the City, however it is a must visit for night time revellers seeking good craic and a traditional pint of the black stuff! The street is packed with bars of all different shapes and sizes and live Irish music most nights in many of them. The street is also in close proximity to some of the best and most popular restaurants in town.

Even during the day this is a great place to go for a pub grub lunch. The Dungloe Bar at the top of Waterloo Street has a bar menu and daily specials on offer! Go & Experience it for yourself and Enjoy!!!
