Our host was very helpful in helping us find where to go and what to do. (more than any of our other hosts). Breakfast was the best - great berry jelly. Good breads too. Of course the bacon was - as always - great. Location is great - a couple blocks from main part of city and walls. Parking free right outside the door. Some road noise at night. Bathroom was very tight. Overall, very good experience.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in July 2012 and were pretty disappointed. Our room (no.5) was tiny with very little space to move around and only a small double bed. There was just enough drawer space, but the only provision for hanging clothes was a few hooks on the wall. Bags were pushed under the bed – there was no where else to put them. The bathroom was small but adequate. We were not impressed to find that three of the five milk cartons in the room were months past their 'use by' date and had gone off, nor by the fact that we had to ask for a second bath towel as only one had been provided. The breakfast itself was fine, but the breakfast room was inadequate for the number of guests and although we were lucky, other guests were left waiting for 20 minutes or more until a space became available. There's a PC for the use of guests, which we appreciated, though with an old keyboard that has lost all its letters. On the plus side, Saddler's House is very conveniently located for the centre of Derry and there's free on-street parking outside. However, we certainly wouldn't stay there again.

We found the Saddler's House via the Tourist Information Centre and are very satisfied with the stay. We were spending a night at Derry and needed a place that is accessible to the major sites in the city. The B&B is centrally located and within convenient walking distance to all the sites we wanted to visit. We arrived on a Saturday evening so we were able to park our car at the doorstep of the B&B (no parking fees on Sat evening and Sunday). The Saddler's House is an old building, but it is pretty and has character. The room was a bit small but yet it only costed us 25 pounds per person, and we were really just looking for a place to stay for one night so it was okay with us. Good wifi connection in the room.

Warm welcome! Compact twin bedded room with even more compact bathroom! That said it served the purpose - a short stay in a friendly city. Comfy bed & good breakfast. Convenient location. Would definitely recommend.

The Saddlers House is within convenient walking distance of all the major sites in Derry. Joan's breakfasts may be best we had in Ireland. Our room (Room 4) is quite small. You may want to ask for a larger room.

Saddlers House is a cute B&B located just a few minutes walk from central Derry. We were welcomed by Joan and Peter's daughter who gave us a map and great local recommendations on what to see and where to eat.

Our room was a bit cold and the bathroom was teeny tiny. Free wifi and plenty of street parking available.

We had great porridge for breakfast. Peter was kind enough to call the Tourist office to find out if the two museums in town were open on the rainy Bank holiday.

Joan & Peter welcomed us to Saddlers and gave us useful information about practical aspects such as how to use the showers as well as city tours and restaurants. Saddlers is situated close to the central part of Derry for easy walks to the city. The rooms were cosy and the breakfasts were delicious. Meeting Bertie the Bulldog was a highlight! If I visited Derry again I would definitely stay at Saddlers again.

Room Tip: Rooms have different sized bed - double, singles.
