Ate here Friday night with my husband we were pleasantly surprised having eaten here before and been disappointed. I had the fish pie which was gorgeous and my husband had the arizona chicken which was also very good. Service was very good. We finished with the cheesecake and icecream which were both delicious. Will definately return. One small niggle wish the hotel could sort the lighting or lack of it on the way down to the hotel very dark especilly as I live locally and walk to it.

“JUST AVERAGE WITH FAULTS”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

I visited the Waterfoot Hotel for lunch with my family after it had been recommended by friends. We were all somewhat disappointed. The food was just passable and acceptable but without much imagination. The pint of Guinness was excellent. Where this establishment failed was with the service which was appallingly slow. The table took a long time to be cleared after the main, and was only cleared when we requested it and even then it was it wasn't cleared properly with dirty glasses still there when we left. We had to ask for the dessert menu twice. This might be understandable if the restaurant was busy, but there were few tables occupied, and on several occasions the waiting staff, I saw 4 waitresses, were grouped near the bar chatting together. I could not recommend anyone to visit this restaurant.

“faultless once again”
Reviewed 10 August 2013

I have dined here on several occasions and have always enjoyed it. Ate here last night (9th August) and once again was not disappointed. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving even though the hotel was catering for a wedding. Drinks were brought quickly and iced water was refreshed during the meal without asking. Staff were professional and attentive without being intrusive. There was the option of a two course meal for £12 or the al a carte menu. We chose the latter. I had the sea bass with champ which was delicious. For desert I would recommend the sharing platter for 2 which gives miniature size portions of all the deserts on the main menu and is definitely worth £6.95. Well done The Waterfoot.

“Good for a cheap weekend”
Reviewed 4 August 2013 via mobile

Nice hotel, reception area was quite fancy and boutiquey, rooms were average enough and pretty basic.

Food in wine bar was nice and good size portions. Service was a bit slow however.

Staff at the Waterfoot definately redeem the pitfalls in some areas and make ur stay as comfortable as possible. Special mention to Kris and Leona on great service!

Overall u get wat u pay for... a 3* hotel 5mins from city center.
