“Another great stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2013

We stayed for five days......29th March....until 3rd April.
We have stayed before and once again we really enjoyed our stay...Ciara booked us in at reception, she was very welcoming and friendly.
Had the two course and bottle of wine on the first night( £35) we added desert for another £9...the meal was really good, would recommend this to anyone.
Carla in the restaurant was very helpful and friendly. at breakfast Evelyn was also very nice and friendly......good choice for breakfast ulster fry or cereals, toast....fruit.....fruit juice etc.
All the staff I came across were very nice, the room was very comfortable as was the bed, one of the best I have slept in...and I have stopped in some hotels in my time.
Next time i'm in Derry I will book the city hotel, hope to be back soon.

Stayed at City Hotel last June as part of a conference and had fantastic time.Perfect location for walking round the city, walls and shopping.Staff very attentive.Used the pool but the jacuzzi was out of action at that time.I would like to revisit esp in 2013 with the City of Culture.

Stayed here for business. Hotel has perfect location overlooking the Peace Bridge.
Bed was very uncomfortable, pillows hard otherwise the room was adequate. We had breakfast daily which was included in our room rate. Would have been nice to have a variety during the week, every day was the same.

For dinner if you have the opportunity to request Carla as your server she will take excellent care of you. The Brie as an appetizer is outstanding!

Room Tip: Request room facing the Peace Bridge. We did not and our room overlooked the roof of another level...

Having stayed here many times now I can only but recommend it to others for a relaxing value for money break. The staff are always courteous and friendly. The hotel is central and has great views over the river and the new bridge, a great sight at night, and a nice relaxing stroll during the day (if you are on the right side of the hotel of course, Room 621 certainly was). In the evenings over the weekend the place is buzzing and if you enjoy a dance the entrance hall becomes a dancefloor and you can boogie the night away (especially for jivers). Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Will deffo be back, just a matter of when. Keep up the good work all.

Room Tip: Try a river facing rooom for the view

This hotel was excellent.Staff very friendly and helpful.Food the best and a very high standard.
Rooms very comfortable and spotless.Leisure facilities and staff brilliant.Would recommend it to any families visiting as shops are great and bars family friendly. We crossed the lovely peace bridge and availed of the local fun fair which again was very family friendly and reasonable prices. We even won a hudge blue bear which made our daughters Easter holiday .Thankyou we will definitely visit this beautiful hotel again. The hello kitty Easter eggs added that extra special touch.

Room Tip: Make sure you pay the parking meter if you choose to park directly across the street as 6 cars had p...

We were not staying in this hotel, although we have stayed before, but called into avail of their excellent dinner package. A 2 course meal for 2 with a bottle of wine for £35. We visited on Friday 1 March and after a lovely meal (steak is £4 extra) we took the rest of our bottle of wine into the bar/reception area where entertainment is provided. A great way to spend an evening.

Dropped in this evening after having a bite to eat in the town. Went to the bar and asked for a cocktail, mojito...didnt think this was too out of the ordinary, is it not a four star hotel???? surely the staff have been trained to deal with order outside of a pint of beer and a bottle of the house wine?? The guy who took our order was polite enough but the girl behind the bar whose back remained to us needs to take a course in customer service, heres hoping she isnt working over the jazz weekend or when any major event is on, definitely doesnt reflect the friendly people of the town.

Dear AutumnDerry40,
Thank you for your review, we are pleased the barman was able to help with your order even though it wasn’t on our current cocktail list; we do appreciate your comments and perhaps will discuss adding this popular drink to our future cocktail training.
