I went to the City Hotel with my wife our daughter and granddaughter for a midweek break.
The very helpful reception staff booked us in very speedily our rooms were spacious and comfortable and clean with tea making facilities also internet there is a trouser press and iron, which was useful as it enabled us to prepare our wrinkled clothing
The rooms were next to each other which was good and near the lift , when we went for our breakfast the restaurant. staff were very pleasant and helpful with my wife who has limited mobility there is a good full Irish buffet style and when we went for our evening meal the restaurant staff were just as pleasant and helpful I had ordered a fish dish as a main course and discovered that.the dish was not what I had thought I asked the waitress if this could be changed to another fish dish not on the menu, when she told the chef of my request and that was not a problem I got the fish dish I had requested the meal was excellent and we all enjoyed our choice of menu the restaurant staff are very good and helpful .and worth commending as are the rest of the staff we came in contact with
The Hotel was within walking distance of many of the things Derry City is noted for and we will hopefully return to the City Hotel in Derry in the very near future

Room Tip: ask for a room near the gym and pool

Stayed for 1 night just for a chill out and a bit of shopping,we picked the City hotel because we stayed there before and had a lovely time, and we thought if it's as good as the last time we are sorted, however we were taken by surprise!! When we arrived the lovely girl at the front desk told us about the 7th floor how each room is a themed room and explained all about the floor and she upgraded us to room 711 which was ABSOLUTLY gorgeous and the doors were fab.We also had complimentary drinks and chocs, and the view was lovely. We went downstairs and sat in the lounge with a glass of wine, relaxed and watched the people come and go.As we booked a deal for the over 50s it included a 4 course meal and because the hotel was busy we had to eat at 6.30 or 9.00pm so we picked 6.30 and had the most beautiful meal.I had the steak which was really very good and my friend had the chicken tikka with rice and she was going to lick the plate.I can't say enough good things about this hotel from the lovely staff, the atmosphere, the food, and the most beautiful rooms with ( smart tvs) We will be returning in the near future.Thankyou City for making our stay perfect.

Just back from a stay at the City Hotel as part of our wedding anniversary from the kids,Arrived at 2.30 and was met by a lovely receptionist who was very helpful. We had an executive suite with a fridge with complementary water, cans of soft drink and a snack.Room was lovely with a view of the river(window needed a wash). We were booked for dinner and breakfast.Dinner at 7pm was prompt and very tasty,We chose from the main menue(most packages have a set menue). We both had starter, steak for main( which was like butter) and dessert with tea/cofee.Staff and service were excellent at both dinner and breakfast.Breakfast was plentiful with a great choice.Fried egg was not on display but when i asked she said that she would bring it over when ready. We checked out at 11pm and as we wanted to see around derry we were allowed to leave our car in the carpark until we returned..Would highly reccomend the City for its staff, food and location,

Great hotel for location, facilities and staff. Always busy, which is a good sign, great meal deal for 2 @£35. Rooms are large, clean. Ideal location overlooking Peace Bridge. Underground parking. Dancing Sat. night. Derry people really friendly. Martin McCrossans taxi tour very informative. Badgers Bar for food and a relaxing drink. A must for a visit.

My mother and I visit this hotel twice annually for a shopping trip and dinner/overnight stay. Each time we are so impressed with the level of service and the great facilities - our room was enormous and had everything you could possibly need. Our breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were also delicious and all for.......£110! We always book through the hotel's website for the best deals. Highly recommend!

A group of us stayed for 2nights in this hotel in November 2012, although it was a first time visit for some of the party the rest of the party had stayed here numerous times and will not stay anywhere else when visiting Derry. As there was a GAA dinner dance being held in the hotel for the full weekend there was an error made on our reservations however the hotel rectified it as soon as it was discovered and offered us a discount on our stay.

The reception, bar and restaurant staffs were so friendly and helpful to us throughout our stay. Parking is available under the hotel and is accessed via a secure entrance which is a plus. The hotel restaurant serves fabulous food and a great buffet breakfast. They have a great offer on dinner for two people plus a bottle of wine at only £15 per person fantastic value. It can be busy early in the morning and for dinner in the evening so arrive early.

The hotel is in a great location 2minutes walk from the old city walls, Guild Hall, Friendship Bridge, bars, restaurants and shops. The fabulous Mandarin Palace restaurant is a few minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms are large, clean and modern with a large bathroom.

Overall i couldn’t fault the hotel at all.

I stayed here when I had a training course at Magee. This hotel was about fifteen minutes' walk from the campus and five minutes from the bus station. My room was spacious, clean and had a proper desk (which would have been useful if I'd wanted to get some work done). Staff were mostly very friendly and efficient, especially at breakfast (which was very good apart from the dry potato bread). When I checked out I was asked if I wanted to store any luggage (I declined, but actually should have accepted the offer!). The only downside to this hotel is that its location means there can be a lot of street noise at night.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, avoid rooms overlooking the roundabout.
