Vegetarians will be at home in any Lebanese restaurant as they include many vegetarian healthy options. Close your eyes and pretend you've been transported to another world and back to the Middle East. It's a small oasis walking through the door of Cedar bringing you to an unexpected space. “Food prepared with passion - served with heart and soul!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2013

Just enjoyed a wonderfully satisfying evening at Cedar - Simon Matta (Proprietor and chef) and his wife Bernadette (Proprietor and front of house hostess), together with their daughter Claudia, greeted us with genuine warmth and were happy to recommend what we should choose from the extensive menu, according to our tastes. The restaurant was so cosy - like being guests in the Matta's own home - the bright, upbeat Lebanese traditional music in the background helped to create a cheerful, holiday 'feel-good' atmosphere. We were totally bowled over by the variety of aromatic flavours infused in the freshly prepared vegetable and meat dishes - just so refreshing to taste something different and exotic - a welcome change from what is on offer in most city restaurants! We brought our own wine and this complimented our intimate dining experience - we will be back!!

“Thank You Cedar. Long may you succeed.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2013

My husband, Paul and I dined in Cedar on Wednesday 29th May and it was wonderful. On the advice of our hostess (Wife of Chef, we believe - who was so welcoming, friendly and helpful), we opted for the Tasting Menu where we got a bit of everything and it was a great decision. The food was delicious and, in particular, the rice was to die for as were the wafer thin potatoes. Our only regret was that we could not eat the lot as there was just too much food. Continued success to Cedar because you are doing a great job. We will definitely recommend you to any of our friends visiting Derry. Pat and Paul (Dublin).

“Can't wait to return!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2013

Just had my first visit to Cedar this evening, and I can not wait to return! Although I live in Derry, I had not heard/seen much about this restaurant but my mother-in-law decided to take us here for mid-week dinner after hearing good reports.
The service was excellent, smiley, friendly, helpful, attentive - everything it should be. We were offered more flatbreads and hummus, and were checked on regularly between courses to ensure everything was to our liking. As each course arrived, it was explained what each dish was and told the ingredients.
We chose the 5 course selection menu for £25 each, and I'm so glad we did! A must for anyone new to Lebanese cuisine. I would probably go for this again on my next trip as there was such a
wide variety of tastes.
Just the right amount of food to leave you nicely full but not uncomfortably "stuffed".
This is my new favourite restaurant in the and its a must for anyone who is sick of the"'pile it high sell it cheap" food that has taken over the city, with zero imagination, lack of originality and bad service. It's such a pleasure to eat fresh vibrant food, made with passion that doesn't leave you feeling like you need to have a lie down afterwards.
Lovely atmosphere, wonderful service, gorgeous food!
If you want to feel like you've been away on holiday for a couple of hours, go to Cedar!
Also - bring your own bottle!
