We called in to the Grand Central around 6pm on a Saturday evening and went upstairs to eat.
The waitress was very friendly and although the menu wasn't extensive there was enough of a choice for us. We ordered pizza and steak pie and both dishes were very tasty. The skinny fries which accompanied the pie were yummy. The only thing I would add to this dish would be some veg on the side. As we were eating the chef appeared with the board detailing the next day's Sunday lunch.
Once we read it, we knew we were coming back for some! Roast beef, creamed leeks, cauliflower cheese, steeped peas and roast/creamed potatoes.
The next day we sat in the downstairs bar to eat our lunch - about 4pm - and it was just as good as we had hoped. It definitely was a cut above the usual Sunday pub lunch and it was nice to enjoy some delicious trimmings which were a welcome change from the usual carrots and turnips served in most other establishments.
This venture deserves to succeed and we will definitely be back!
