“derry good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2008

Arrived at 9am on a monday morning after an overnight crossing. A room was instantly available and the staff most attentive and......local..yes local. Room was adequately sized for our party of 2 adults 2 children and 1 infant.
The restaurant was quite good and food fresh. It was so good nothing more needs to be said.

  • Liked — cleanliness and staff attentiveness
  • Disliked — was slightly out of town but a nice walk in.

Fantastic night. Booked a dinner, bed & breakfast package for the gala dinner on NYE. Meal was excellent as were the band and disco. Staff very welcoming and attentive and rooms comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend it and will definitely be back next year.

Visiting friends in Derry over the weekend of 16, 17 and 18 November. I have to say that this hotel was recommended by a friend of my wife's. Usually I like to book the hotels myself and was bit apprehensive. In hindsight this has been one of the best hotels i have stayed in and I have stayed in quite a few. The atmosphere was fantastic in the restaurant and the service from the moment I arrived was second to none. First time back in Derry for 13 years - will be back again next year at Da Vinci's *****

  • Liked — Good bedrooms and fantastic amenities
  • Disliked — I only got to stay 3 nights

I booked the Honeymoon Suite 12 months before our wedding, securing the room with my credit card. I confirmed the booking 4 weeks before our 'Big Day'. On our wedding night we went to the Hotel which was only 2 mins away from our Reception. We arrived at 1.30am, my wife was still in her dress and i was still wearing my suit. The door was locked and it was opened by a member of staff. He asked my name, checked his list, and told us we had no reservation. I said we were just married and had booked the Honeymoon Suite, he then checked with his colleague and repeated that we had no reservation. As I understandably became agitated my Wife asked for another room and he said there were no free rooms. He proposed that we could stand just inside the door, as he phoned a taxi to take us away. My wife was so distraught and mortified that she went to the disabled toilet and changed her wedding dress. Whilst my wife was changing a member of staff asked to speak to me. He said that they had made a mistake, that i had booked the room and that it was ready. I was so disguisted that i refused to stay, but my wife remarked that she was too tired. We stayed the night in the expensive Honeymoon Suite and received no explanation as to why the best night of our life had been ruined. I wrote a letter to the management whilst on honeymoon and have not yet received a reply or explanation. Our wedding took two years to plan and pay for, this hotel wrecked it in one night.

  • Liked — Its Location, it was near our reception
  • Disliked — Being maltreated

Stayed at the Da Vinci Apartments for a week last year. The apartment was lovely, very modern, and exceeding my expectations. Although very pricey it was worth the stay. The only bad point was that the day we was packing to leave we kept having the very rude cleaners keep coming in or knocking at the door huffing for us to get out (even though we still had a few hours to go) Overall a nice place.

Just back from the ramada hotel after a girlie weekend .Although we had a great time i would not recommend it for familes with young children as it can be quite noisy at night with local people leaving the nite club in the early hours of the morning .However the noise might not be as bad if you are not facing the carpark.

The bar and niteclub are extremly busy, however the residents bar and the restaurant are lovely, food, service and staff were great

Rooms were fine although the the club room looks better. All in all i would stay again but i would ask for a quiter room

  • Liked — staff and food were great
  • Disliked — noise from party goers leaving at end of the night

Stayed at Da Vinci's for a night in Decemeber 06, arrived about 12pm and checked in, hotel was nice and staff were helpful. Called into the bar for a snack which was pretty good too and not expensive. I then asked satff at reception to book a table for dinner that night in the hotel restaurant, only to be told that we could not book one as they were full. I was really annoyed at the fact that residents could not even get a meal in the hotel.
After some advice from bar staff we headed into town for dinner and had a great time.

The spirit bar that night (sat) had a good atmosphere as did the reception for the residents bar later.

Close to the city's shopping centres and plenty of nice restaurants close by.

Nice weekend, just a pity about the dinner.
